Durante i trenta giorni di viaggio, Spurlock pensa bene di "mettersi in forma" e decide di consumare i suoi pasti soltanto nei ristoranti McDonald's, seguento qualche semplice regola: 1) per tutto il mese la sua scelta deve limitarsi a quanto offerto dalla famosa catena di fast food, 2) niente menu grandi a meno che non fossero espressamente proposti dallo staff, 3) mangiare tutti i cibi in vendita almeno una volta.
