Il giorno prima

Quindici volontari accettano di farsi rinchiudere per venti giorni in un rifugio antiatomico per testare gli effetti di una simile situazione sul comportamento umano. I partecipanti, scelti tra svariate tipologie di persone, avranno le reazioni più imprevedibili, soprattutto quando verranno a sapere, attraverso la televisione installata nel bunker, che un missile atomico sta forse per colpire la città in cui si trovano.

Volevo solo dormirle addosso

Marco Pressi, giovane formatore del personale di una multinazionale, si ritrova dinanzi a una sfida che accetta: deve riuscire, in un arco di tempo ridottissimo, a far uscire dalla produzione 25 dipendenti di vario livello senza creare tensioni visibili. Se ce la farà avrà un avanzamento e otterrà un cospicuo riconoscimento in denaro. In caso contrario lo attende un portasigarette. Da quel momento la vita di Pressi (già definito "il muerto", ovunque tranne che a letto, dalla fidanzata) cambia. Dovrà attrezzarsi per convincersi che lo slogan "People First" che caratterizza la sua azienda non è altro che falsità. Lui non può e non deve provare compassione per nessuno. Dopo Risorse umane e Mobbing (per non citare che due titoli) non era facile essere originali su un tema aspro e quantomai attuale come quello dei tagli dei posti di lavoro.

Caterina va in città

Caterina lascia la provincia con la famiglia e si trasferisce a Roma. Qui, si inserisce con disinvoltura nella vita cittadina, divisa fra l'amicizia con la figlia di un sottosegretario fascistoide e quella con la figlia di due "alternativi" sinistroidi. Virzì, dopo i tentennamenti e la mezza delusione di "My name is Tanino", torna con vigore al suo territorio prediletto, quello della commedia a sfondo sociale e politico. In questo caso la posizione è un po' sfumata, e meno definita che in precedenza: al centro della vicenda, infatti, non è più la lotta di classe o le amarezze della classe operia, ma la vacuità di valori di una gioventù che non sa più a cosa appigliarsi, dato che neppure i genitori offrono certezze condivisibili. Amaro e cinico come solo i maestri della commedia all'italiana sapevano in passato essere, Virzì si candida ad essere il cantore più credibile della crisi di una società che si morde incessantemente la coda, oltre che un ottimo direttore di attori.

Good Life reflects on a modern phenomenon, where community has become the product of a company, but which at the same time reminds us of other collectives from a completely different time.

The Fragrance of Wild Flowers

A well known theater and movie actor, dissatisfied with condition at home and at the theater, suddenly stops the dress rehearsal of a play in which he has one of the main roles, and goes to Danube to visit his friend, a boatman transporting bricks on his small barge from a brick plant in a settlement of poor people to Belgrade. This unexpected action confuses the actor’s environment. Everybody sets out to the Danube in order to find out the real reasons for the actor’s odd behavior and to hear when he will return to normal life. The actor refuses to talk, stating that only known what he does not want! The young director, who earlier started work on filming a portrait of the actor, doesn’t know what to do. The opening night is postponed.
