Love Blooms Out on the Murasakino

Asuka Period, Japan. Ooama no Miko meets Nukata no Ookimi when he goes with his older brother (Nakano Ooe no Miko) to her house. There Nakano Ooe is wooing Nukata's older sister, and so the two younger siblings meet and fall in love. Five years later, Ooama and Nukata are married, and a daughter has just been born. Ooama talks happily to Nukata about his plans with his brother to jointly rule their empire of Yamato. As Nukata listens to his naive, happy chatter, she becomes uneasy. Later, Nakano Ooe arrives and tells Nukata that she has grown and become very lovely. He has fallen in love with her, and wants her for his own. The setting is Firenze (Florence), Italy, in the 1850s, where the Unification of Italy was beginning. Antonio is a sharp and virtuous young noble who is the oldest son of a marquis family. He meets Pamela, who used to be a singer at a bar but has now become the widow of a noble. He is charmed by her eyes that are deep with emotion and falls in love with her. On the other hand, the second son of the marquis family, Leonardo, is more free-spirited than Antonio. He believes that Pamela is a wicked woman who will lead his older brother to ruin. He therefore sets up a false romance to separate them, however...

Akechi Kogorou's Incident Report -The Black Lizard- / Tuxedo Jazz

Takarazuka Flower Troupe 2007 performance. Based on Edogawa Rampo's novel The Black Lizard, which has had many movie and play adaptations. The Takarazuka version will be brimming over with period romance, set at the turn of the Taisho/Heiwa Eras. As the tale of thrills and suspense between the gloomy and reclusive great detective Akechi Kogorou and the master of disguise and female thief the Black Lizard (who is forever switching between western clothing and kimono) unfolds, it comes to a conclusion different from Mishima Yukio's version. Tuxedo Jazz was the associated revue show.

Masquerade Hotel

Nitta Kousuke, a police inspector in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Force, is on the trail of a serial killer who leaves clues to the location of his next crime on his victims. Nitta uses the clues to discover that the Hotel Cortesia will be the site of the next killing, and goes undercover as a front desk clerk to help him unmask the killer. Yamagishi Naomi is the front desk clerk in charge of training him, and the two butt heads at every instance. Will they be able to unmask the killer before he strikes again?

The Cinema Rhapsody / Bouquet de TAKARAZUKA

In the face of executives insisting on selling UFA, producer Kaufmann, infused with the same spirit as President Klitzsch, declares that they will make a low-budget entertainment film that the public is sure to love. Who will take on such an audacious task? When Kaufmann himself is shuttered, one man takes up the challenge—Theo Wegmann, an assistant director at UFA. Foreseeing the end of the age of silent films, Theo suggests making a talking movie with singing. If Hollywood can do it, so can we here in Berlin! With the condition that he gets to choose his cast and staff, Theo promises Kaufmann that he will produce a low-budget movie that will entertain everyone and be a major hit.

Takarazuka Snow Troupe 2015 production based on the life of Al Capone. The year is 1929, in a prison in New Jersey. Here, wearing a Divan watch too extravagant for the setting, sits one man: Al Capone. As everyone knows, he’s an American gangster. In a cell arranged especially for him, he gulps down law-prohibited bourbon, next to him sits the script for a new Hollywood screenplay that is in production. The title is “Scarface.” It is plain that that word represents Al. Before the writer of this script, Al begins to tell the lesser known “truth of Al Capone.”

fff -Fortississimo- / Silk Road ~A Bandit and a Jewel~

FFF - Ludwig van Beethoven instigated a musical revolution of such historical proportions that we still know his name today. And yet the man bearing that name was visited by misfortune of all kinds: lost love, loneliness, hearing loss... Even so, he was able to produce his Ninth Symphony featuring the singing of "Ode to Joy." But how? Silk Road - From west to east, from east to west, the Silk Road, a trade route carrying culture, civilization, and people, connected Western Europe with Asia over land and sea. A bandit preying on merchants traveling the route obtains a blue diamond. However, it is in fact the lost eye of the Indian goddess Sita. The jewel has changed hands on countless occasions, at times bringing good fortune to its owner, at other times tragic doom. Having roamed the Silk Road since the long distant past, the Eye of Sita invites the bandit on a journey through the copious memories dwelling behind its dazzling facets.
