It took place on August 31, 2019, at Motorpoint Arena Cardiff in Cardiff, Wales and was streamed live on the WWE Network. It is the second event promoted under the NXT UK TakeOver chronology, after NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool.

The Way to the Heart

The Big Event was a Canada-only professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), which took place on August 28, 1986, at the Exhibition Stadium in Toronto, Ontario. The event drew a legitimate crowd of 74,000 fans which was an outdoor attendance record at the time. The event set an attendance record for a wrestling show that would not be beaten until WrestleMania III. The main event heading into the event was between WWF Champion Hulk Hogan and Paul Orndorff for the WWF Championship.

WWE Backlash 2000

Backlash 2000 took place on April 30, 2000 at the MCI Center in Washington, D.C.. It was the second event under the Backlash chronology. Survivor Series (2007) was a PPV which took place on November 18, 2007 at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. It was presented by THQ's WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008. It was the 21st annual Survivor Series and starred wrestlers from the Raw, SmackDown!, and ECW brands. The main event featured SmackDown wrestlers in a Hell in a Cell match where World Heavyweight Champion Batista defended against challenger The Undertaker. In Raw's main match, Randy Orton fought Shawn Michaels in a singles match, while in ECW's prime match, ECW Champion CM Punk defended his title against John Morrison and The Miz in a Triple Threat match. Two matches were on the undercard. The first was a singles match featuring The Great Khali vs. Hornswoggle. The other featured Team Triple H (Triple H, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio and Kane) wrestling Team Umaga (Umaga, Mr. Kennedy, Montel Vontavious Porter, Finlay and Big Daddy V) in an inter-brand five-on-four Survivor Series elimination tag team match.

Backlash (2008) was the tenth annual Backlash PPV. It took place on April 27, 2008 at the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. The event starred wrestlers from the Raw, SmackDown, and ECW brands. The main event was a Fatal Four-Way Elimination for the WWE Championship match featuring WWE Champion Randy Orton, Triple H, John Cena, and John "Bradshaw" Layfield. The other main event featured wrestlers from the SmackDown brand, in which World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker defended against challenger Edge in a singles match. The main event from the ECW brand was a singles match where ECW Champion Kane defended against challenger Chavo Guerrero. No Mercy (2006) was the ninth annual No Mercy PPV. It took place on October 8, 2006 from the RBC Center in Raleigh, North Carolina and was a SmackDown! brand-exclusive event. The main event was a Fatal Four-Way match for the World Heavyweight Championship between defending champion King Booker, Bobby Lashley, Batista, and Finlay. One of the predominant matches on the card was Mr. Kennedy versus The Undertaker. Another primary match on the undercard was Rey Mysterio versus Chavo Guerrero in a Falls Count Anywhere match.

WWE Cyber Sunday 2006

Cyber Sunday (2006) was the first annual Cyber Sunday PPV. It took place on November 5, 2006 at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio replacing Taboo Tuesday. This event had the unique feature of being interactive. Fans could vote for selective characteristics in the scheduled matches, including opponents, stipulations, match types, etc. The voting for the event started on October 16, 2006, and ended during the event. The main event was the "Champion of Champions" match, between WWE's three top champions. The three champions in the match were WWE Champion John Cena, World Heavyweight Champion King Booker, and ECW World Champion The Big Show. The fans could vote for who would defend their championship in this match. The predominant match on the card was D-Generation X versus Rated-RKO. The featured matches on the undercard were Jeff Hardy versus Carlito for the WWE Intercontinental Championship and Lita versus Mickie James in a Diva Lumberjack match for the WWE Women's Championship.

ECW December to Dismember

December to Dismember (2006) was a PPV event produced by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), which took place on December 3, 2006 at the James Brown Arena in Augusta, Georgia. The event starred wrestlers from the ECW brand . The main attraction on the event card was an Extreme Elimination Chamber match for the ECW World Championship. The six participants were defending champion Big Show, Bobby Lashley, Rob Van Dam, Hardcore Holly, CM Punk and Test. The featured bout on the undercard was a tag team bout between The Hardys and MNM (Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro). The event had an attendance of 4,800 and received about 90,000 pay-per-view buys, the lowest buyrate in WWE history.

Armageddon (2006) was a PPV presented by Activision's Call of Duty 3, which took place on December 17, 2006 at the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia. The event starred wrestlers from the SmackDown! brand. The main event was a tag team match, in which the team of Batista and John Cena took on the team of King Booker and Finlay.
