The Uprising Tour was Bob Marley's last tour before his tragic early death in May 1981. Marley's energetic, charismatic performance gives no indication that he was already ill with the cancer that would take his life less than a year later. This live show from Dortmund's Westfalenhalle was filmed for the famous German music TV series Rockpalast on June 13th 1980, featuring Bob Marley on superb form. Expertly delivering a set of hit singles and classic album tracks, Marley's energetic, charismatic performance includes I Shot The Sheriff, Get Up, Stand Up and No Woman, No Cry and the film has been substantially restored to a high level.

Bill Bruford and Michiel Borstlap - Live In Holland

Sono 95 minuti di musica elegante e piena di passione, caratterizzata da un virtuosismo che non e' mai fine a se stesso, una abilita' strumentale che e' sempre messa al servizio di strutture complesse e piene di suggestioni, a cavallo fra la potenza ritmica del rock e la raffinatezza armonica del jazz, con lunghe linee melodiche caratterizzate da cesure ritmiche inaspettate. Bruford conferma il suo approccio poliritmico sempre attento ai dettagli e alle sfumature, con grande capacita' di utilizzare al meglio le dinamiche e le sottigliezze timbriche, anche grazie all'utilizzo di piccole percussioni. Michiel Borstlap e' un pianista degno di grande rispetto, dotato di una visione ampia che ben si sposa con le intenzioni del piu' celebre partner. Oltre al piano acustico utilizza una tastiera elettronica collegata ad un sampler che diventa fonte di sonorita' piene di echi fortemente espressivi, spesso drammatici e declamatori, a volte esotici e intimisti.

Tedeschi Trucks Band - Live from the Fox Oakland

La Tedeschi Trucks Band è una “family band”, nel senso che Susan Tedeschi (cantante e chitarrista) e Derek Trucks (fenomenale virtuoso della chitarra) sono marito e moglie. Sono anche una “live band” nel senso che passano moltissimo tempo in tour a suonare in giro per il mondo (recentemente li abbiamo visti anche in Italia) ma sopratutto perché la loro musica trova l'apoteosi e la sua massima espressività proiprio dal palco. Nati nel 2010 (dopo le rispettive carriere soliste) la band ha all'attivo tre album in studio ed ora esce “Live From The Fox Oakland”, il secondo lavoro dal vivo della loro carriera . Il video, che documenta per intero il concerto del 9 settembre 2016 al Fox Theater di Oakland, è ovviamente ricco vista la “prolissità” sul palco della band, che per l'occasione diventa una semi orchestra essendo composta da ben 12 elementi. Attenzione però perché l'aggettivo “prolisso” è per loro da intendersi in senso positivo. Da ascoltare ad alto volume.
