Film del 1970 in tre episodi. Ne "Il frigorifero", diretto da Mario Monicelli: Gavino e la moglie Adele sono due sardi emigrati a Torino, negli anni del boom economico. Adele arriva a prostituirsi per pagare l'ultima rata del frigorifero, oggetto nel quale i due vedono la concretizzazione del loro desiderio di ascesa sociale. Ne "La camera", diretto da Alberto Sordi: Giacinto Colonna è un modesto operaio che vuole festeggiare l'anniversario di nozze con sua moglie Erminia in una lussuosa camera d'albergo, ma numerose vicissitudini bloccano l'impresa. Ne "Il leone", diretto da Vittorio De Sica: Giulia e Antonio sono amanti e sono stati quasi scoperti dal marito di lei. Un giorno un grosso leone scappato dallo zoo entra nel giardino di casa, poi sale e si accuccia davanti la loro finestra, impedendo agli spasimanti di uscire.

Sophie Bandol, ex star del cinema, scopre un cadavere. Spaventata, chiama la polizia ma all'arrivo degli agenti il corpo sembra come scomparso. Mentre si insinua il dubbio che il cadavere non sia mai esistito, il commissario Dupin è convinto che anche in assenza di un corpo si può indagare sul crimine a esso commesso. Le indagini lo portano sulle tracce di un uomo d'affari scozzese scomparso. Non passa molto tempo prima che venga rinvenuto il cadavere di un altro uomo, anch'esso scozzese. All'apparenza, i due casi sono collegati.

This Western is set in the Mexican valley of Sonora not that far south of the state of Arizona. It's just after the American Civil War, and a former Confederate officer, Mike Summers has taken refuge in a small town in the valley.
