Big Story in a Small City

The feature film is based on true events that changed two families forever. The story, both comical, satirical and a tragedy begins in the city of Yerevan, Armenia. Grigor Janoyan, a professor of agriculture at the University of Yerevan, dies from a freak accident, almost as strange as the events that soon follow. In accordance with Armenian tradition, the relatives bring the deceased into their home for the "viewing" by his friends and family before the burial. The family, consumed with grief fails to realize that the body on the dining room table is not Grigor. A friend of the family, while paying respects, discovers the mistake. Grigors look-a-like, Ruben Pashayan was the head of Armenia's organized crime families. Trouble is inevitable, but as the story continues, Grigor's son Hayk and his friends begin the quest of finding his father's body.

Questa sua innocente idea si scontra con la terrificante realtà di un'improvvisa invasione aliena che mette tutto a soqquadro. Samira riesce a sopravvivere e si rifugia in un luogo chiuso assieme ad altre persone. Ci si rende conto che gli alieni sono estremamente sensibili ai rumori e perciò le chance di rimanere vivi sono strettamente legate alla capacità di essere silenziosi.

Spatial Memory

Il lavoro vuole essere una riflessione sul rapporto tra memoria e spazio. Un rapporto dialettico, conflittuale, che innesta il gesto all'interno di una concezione di spazio, sperimentando le sue alterità. La performing arts funge da oggetto veicolante, attraverso il contatto con lo spazio, che prende forma dal telo di plastica. Il suono, di natura asincrona, è un'ulteriore porta d'accesso per garantire la formalizzazione dello spazio fittizio, come proiezione mentale, e dello spazio reale, comprendente ogni barriera visibile in campo. Il gesto della figura umana acquisisce quindi la consapevolezza di possibilità altre, e di tracciarle all'interno della memoria irrazionale del movimento.
