Il castello errante di Howl

Sophie ha diciotto anni e ogni giorno lavora instancabilmente nel negozio di cappelli del suo defunto padre. Un giorno, durante una rara escursione in città, per caso incontra il Mago Howl. Axel Foley è un giovane agente della polizia di Detroit, fin troppo esuberante ed insofferente alle regole. Il suo più caro amico è Michael Tandino, un piccolo ladruncolo con alcuni problemi con la giustizia ma a cui Axel è molto affezionato, dato che si conoscono fin da quando erano ragazzi. La sera stessa in cui Michael incontra Axel, a casa di quest'ultimo, i due vengono aggrediti da dei misteriosi killer, che stordiscono Axel ed uccidono Michael a sangue freddo. Indagando, Axel scopre che l'ultimo posto che Michael aveva frequentato era un galleria d'arte a Beverly Hills, dove aveva trovato lavoro grazie a Jenny, una loro amica di vecchia data. Arrivato a Beverly Hills, va a trovare Jenny, la quale lo indirizza al suo superiore, Victor Maitland, il proprietario della galleria d'arte. Maitland sembra non gradire le domande di Foley, e lo fa cacciare in malo modo dai suoi uomini. Per giunta, Axel viene anche arrestato dalla polizia con l'accusa di aggressione.

Dall'altra parte gli uomini, capitanati da Lady Eboshi che gestisce con amore, giustizia e pietà il suo villaggio di fabbri, vogliono lavorare la montagna e abbattere gli alberi per poter estrarre il ferro (fonte di ricchezza). In mezzo un gruppo di monaci cerca di fomentare gli uomini ad uccidere il Dio Bestia e rubarne la testa perchè, si dice, fornisca l'eterna giovinezza.

Un chien andalou

Girato da Buñuel con una parte del patrimonio di famiglia, insieme con l'amico pittore Salvador Dalì, il film mostra immagini che "escludono ogni ricorso al razionale" e danno libero corso al sogno e all'inconscio. Presentata a Parigi, l'opera aprì ai due autori le porte del gruppo surrealista che vi lesse in filigrana "un assoluto, disperato appello al crimine".

Le vacanze di Monsieur Hulot

Monsieur Hulot con la sua vecchia auto si reca in vacanza, in una modesta pensione in Bretagna, dove incontra i pacifici ospiti che sono soliti frequentare questo ambiente famigliare. Grazie alle sue iniziative, Hulot stavolge le tranquilla comunità organizzando gite, pic nic e balli.
