The Experiment

The children's home is intended to accommodate 16 carefully selected Greenlandic children, who have just come home after a year of civilization in Denmark. Now they are to be introduced into the Greenlandic community as role models. Gert, who lives alone and has no family, accepts the assignment with pride. She is idealistic and ambitious and feels passionate about saving Greenland from destitution. The means to this end is to educate and civilize the 16 children in the Danish language and culture, so they can spearhead Greenland's transformation from being a poor hunter society to being an equal part of Denmark. Due to her blind faith in the experiment, Gert underestimates the obvious personal costs to the children. And when the children as well as the Danish state fail her...

It all begins innocently enough on a summer Sunday morning, with the sun shining from a cloudless sky. Mrs. Hald sends her two young twenty-year-old daughters on a cycling and swimming trip to North Zealand. Mr. Hartsen, a district court attorney who, incidentally, is married to a very jealous and combative wife, is taking his newly acquired Chevrolet for a long drive. When the two girls have everything stolen from them while swimming in the sea, they stop the first motorist they meet—and unfortunately, this happens to be our friend, district court attorney Hartsen.

Three Summers

Jørgen lives abroad, but every summer he comes back to Denmark with his wife. He invites, as usual, his neighbours and their teenager son, Thomas, for dinner at his place. Only, this time there is a strange tension in the air between the adults. After dinner, Jørgen and Thomas go to the beach for a walk. Gone with the Fish

Being a fisherman is like being a farmer - you depend on the wealth of mother nature herself. However, mother nature is like romance, highly capricious!
