Roughly chronological, from 3/96 to 11/96, with a coda in spring of 1997: inside compounds of Aum Shinrikyo, a Buddhist sect led by Shoko Asahara. (Members confessed to a murderous sarin attack in the Tokyo subway in 1995.) We see what they eat, where they sleep, and how they respond to media scrutiny, on-going trials, the shrinking of their fortunes, and the criticism of society. Central focus is placed on Hiroshi Araki, a young man who finds himself elevated to chief spokesman for Aum after its leaders are arrested. Araki faces extreme hostility from the Japanese public, who find it hard to believe that most followers of the cult had no idea of the attacks and even harder to understand why these followers remain devoted to the religion, if not the violence.

The property's first general meeting with the guys in the stairwell – and the presentation of the first annual accounts – are golden scenes from the golden age of Danish family films.

Sexy Girls of Denmark

This is a film about the movie industry, about favors, hooking up etc. It is mostly set in Copenhagen and the story begins with the son of a big producer going to Copenhagen from Hong Kong trying to seal a deal. He gets involved with the Denmark girls.

The film could just as well have been called "Where there is room in the heart, there is also room in the house," because it is actually about an old, seasoned people person's solution to the housing problem. He solves it in his own – admittedly unusual – way, but he solves it! Had he been a little more discreet, his invention would never have been discovered – and he could have lived the rest of his life carefree. But this experienced judge of character – whom we call "the Professor" – had one major flaw: his overly big heart for the small and unfortunate members of society in general and the homeless in particular. It is this unfortunate heart that sets the film in motion and accelerates the events.

The Magical Portrait

Once, before Christmas, Ivan was predicted to meet a foreign beauty. Forest sorceress for the kindness of a young man gave him a magical portrait of a Chinese girl named Xiao Qing. Her beauty struck Ivan in the heart, and he fell in love with no memory. Suddenly, the portrait came to life, the girl told the young man an amazing story. The days tortured them and blurred they clear eyes. When they finally got back together, would they recite again the poem on how beautify life is?
