Ice Up

Unique shapes, no two the same, formed by the action of water and frost. The water that once ran from the summits in torrents and waterfalls is immobilized for a few weeks. The thing is to be there, in time, just at the moment when they become solid, just before they return to water. A question of balance. Around seven top-level climbers who represent all the richness of the activity, these images will highlight different techniques and different approaches. Although the athletic performance is impressive, it is there only to emphasize the dazzling shapes, the warmth of friendships, the stories of teamwork.

Skullduggery

Adam is cursed: one of his ancestors played a game and fell victim to a sorcerer or possibly Satan. The curse manifests through Adam and the game, making him attend strange amateur theatre where immensely talentless people try to do farce and a janitor wanders around with a game of Tic-Tac-Toe on his back.

Jean des Bossons

Jean des Bossons è un documentario-fiction che racconta l'attività di una guida di alta montagna nel 1947. Nei dintorni di Chamonix Mont-Blanc, la guida Jean des Bossons, interprete dell'alpinista Armand Charlet, accompagna nelle escursioni in montagna Jean-Pierre, un apprendista guida. Il novizio, sci in spalla, è già maldestro. Il professionista gli ha insegnato a muoversi con gli sci in salita e in discesa, poi all'alpinismo nelle parrocchie di ghiaccio e roccia. Attraverso la formazione, Jean-Pierre ne ha fatto il suo lavoro. Le guide sono anche bagnini. Un gruppo si è recato su un ghiacciaio per soccorrere un uomo caduto in un crepaccio. Durante questo salvataggio, Jean des Bossons è vittima di un incidente. Una tragedia che gli impedisce di esercitare la professione, ma non l'arrampicata. L'uomo sprofonda nella nebbia e Jean-Pierre non riesce a trovarlo.

Japanese Butterflies

This early silent era film was released in France circa 1908 by Segundo de Chomón. It is partially hand coloured and shows several Japanese characters and eventually a worm change into a butterfly which while flapping it's wings changes colours as it flies.
