The Water Magician

Taki no Shiraito is a very independent young woman with a famous water juggling act in a travelling carnival troupe. She falls in love with an orphaned carriage driver Kinya Murakoshi, and pledges to put him through law school in Tokyo. She always encloses money in her letters to him, until one hard winter there is no work to be found.

Nomad the Beginning

On a desperate quest to find her missing brother, Marianna reluctantly picks up a mysterious stranger with no memory, John. Together they must get to a rendezvous point on the west coast where a shadowy figure awaits them. Unbeknownst to them a black-ops splinter cell team is tracking John. They send in special agent Thomas Dockins, a highly trained and brainwashed military assassin, to kill John and the woman he is traveling with. As they struggle for their lives, John and Marianna discover that they are caught in the middle of a sinister extra-terrestrial plot.

Trecartin returns to his conception of family-as-business-enterprise, casting parent figures as managers and executives on one end of the spectrum, estranged children as freelancers on the other. The director plays four sisters named Ceader, Britt, Adobe and Deno, the boundaries of whom are indistinct. It is difficult to tell where one sister ends and the next begins. The sisters' questing—for identity, for romance, etc.—leads them on an episodic series of adventures, several of which are defined as "premises." A Trecartin premise plays out as a predetermined situation where the character initiating it has already set the tone, terms, and trajectory of the experience in their mind. The actual, lived event serves only as the shading-in of the outline.

Masoud is released from prison after around 15 years of detention. An old friend he meets after his release from prison asks him to look for his daughter, Saïda, who left her in the city of Dakhla, with one of her relatives before losing contact with her. "Masoud" finds "Saïda", who works as a singer in a bar, the latter steals a key to a mafia belonging to an imprisoned minister, this key opens a safe filled with precious documents which accuses a member of parliament. a monkey named "Saâdan" swallows this key, to become their travel companion in many adventures where they find themselves chased by the mafia, the police, the men of the member of parliament, as well as trafficking gangs.
