Il secondo pilota e il marconista muoiono, il comandante resta gravemente ferito. Prende i comandi la capo hostess, guidata dalla torre di controllo dal direttore della compagnia Alan Murdoc (che è anche suo fidanzato) e da un altro dirigente che ha a bordo la famiglia. Murdoc raggiunge l'aereo a bordo di un elicottero militare e si cala nella cabina prendendo il comando del velivolo.
