The defeated remnants of vile Ukrainian nationalists, headed by the leader of the Ukrainian liberation movement, Symon Petliura, cannot accept their historical fate and are plotting an insurrection against the Soviet regime in Ukraine. There is nothing Petliura and his cohorts would not do to win back control over Ukraine, including selling it to the highest bidder, in this case, the Polish dictator Jozef Pilsudski. A group of plotters are coordinating an insurrection in Kyiv with an attack from Poland headed by Petliura’s general Yurko Tiutiunnyk. Predictably, the invincible Red Army defeats the nationalist plotters and proves that the Soviet borders are impregnable.

Kagemusha - L'ombra del guerriero

Durante le lotte per la conquista del potere a Kyoto, nel Giappone del XVI secolo, il principe Shinge Takeda, ambizioso e valoroso, muore. Prevedendo la riscossa dei rivali, trattenuti dalla sua fama, il morente chiede al fratello Nobukado e al figlio Katsuyori, e a tutti i generali del clan, di rimanere nei propri territori e di nascondere la sua morte. Nobukado, trovato un ladro in procinto di venire crocifisso e avendolo salvato per la sua somiglianza con Shinge, convince tutti a farlo passare per il principe morto. "Kagemusha" - che significa: "ombra di Shinge" - accetta per interesse e tenta di approfittare della situazione.

Quando l'ultima spada è sguainata

Di quel samurai, una volta membro della Shinsengumi come lui, non resta che quella foto sbiadita, ma la sua memoria vive ancora, intensa, nel cuore di coloro che lo hanno conosciuto. Ambientato in un'epoca dove lo scontro tra Shogun e Imperatore dette alla storia una svolta radicale, è un film struggente ed evocativo, denso dei valori che nonostante tutto, il Giappone non vuole dimenticare.

Alla morte del Taikō Hideyoshi Toyotomi, il designato erede era Hideyori, figlio della concubina Yodogimi (nipote di Oda Nobunaga). Nel 'Consiglio dei Cinque Reggenti', nominato da Hideyoshi, c'era anche Ieyasu Togugawa, la cui mira era di assumere il comando del Giappone ormai unificato da Hideyoshi. Ishida Mitsunari, con l'amico Maeda Toshiie, cercavano di tenere a freno le sue brame, ma Maeda Toshiie morì, e Mitsunari subentrò al suo posto nel 'Consiglio dei Cinque Reggenti'. Le reciproche insofferenze, portarono Mitsunari e Ieyasu ad uno scontro sempre più palese, nel quale funrono coinvolti i daimyō, che si schierarono per l'uno o per l'altro, mossi da intenti più o meno nobili, ma che finirono inevitabilmente per confluire nella più colossale battaglia della storia del Giappone.

Il trono di sangue

Taketoki Washizu è un nobile a cui viene profetizzata l'ascesa al potere e l'invincibilità fino a quando la foresta non si muoverà verso il suo castello. La profezia si avvera: Washizu, consigliato dalla moglie Asaji, uccide il re ed usurpa il trono, mentre l'amico Miki si impadronisce di un castello. Durante i funerali del re, i guerrieri vengono a conoscenza del delitto e Washizu e Asaji vengono assaliti dai sensi di colpa. Istigato ancora dalla moglie, Washizu esercita ancora di più il suo dispotico potere combattendo contro tutti coloro che lo ostacolano ma, durante un banchetto, l'ombra dell'assassinato gli appare davanti. Intanto una parte del paese si ribella e un esercito marcia contro il castello. Alla fine, Washizu si trova di fronte l'esercito nemico che avanza proteggendosi con i rami degli alberi.

I 47 ronin ribelli

Durante un ricevimento ufficiale presso lo shogun, il cerimoniere viene minacciato con la spada all'interno del palazzo. L'autore del gesto verrà costretto a fare hara-kiri. 47 samurai al suo servizio restano senza padrone, trasformandosi così in ronin, e giurano di vendicarlo. Due anni più tardi compiranno la loro vendetta e lo shogun, pur ammirandone la lealtà estrema, li condannerà a morte.
