Provincia violenta (1978)

All'Hotel Bellavista di Aversa e' posta la centrale di una organizzazione mafiosa, diretta da Augusto. Flavia, per mezzo di un istituto di bellezza, irretisce clienti facoltose che, fotografate in pose compromettenti dopo essere state drogate, vengono sottoposte a ricatti. Il capitano dei carabinieri Franco Sereni, ripetutamente rimproverato per i suoi metodi violenti nei confronti della mala, mentre si trova in aspettativa di due mesi, a causa dell'uccisione dell'amica Nadia, entra in contatto con il losco giro. Le sue indagini vengono ostacolate da Righi, il commissario locale, corrotto dipendente di Augusto. Il Sereni, tuttavia, viene contattato da due delle vittime...

1989: 64th and last year of the Showa era. A girl is kidnapped and killed. The unsolved case is called Case 64 ('rokuyon'). 2002: Yoshinobu Mikami, who was the detective in charge of the Case 64, moves as a Public Relations Officer in the Police Affairs Department. A tall and a small masked man wearing police uniforms driving the local cop car rob 600.000 Euro from a money transport in Eifel town Monreal. Incompetent state inspector Melanie Marschall focuses local police detectives Killmer and Kati Biever, neither of which has an alibi, both had the car keys, even fitting masks where found at Killmer's home. The are suspended, needing to find the -obviously well-informed- real culprits, while precinct colleague Ralf is recruited to spy on them. While Kati's irresponsible grandmother loads further suspicion on them, the cop pair finds several townsfolk and Melanie Marschall in financial need, yet no conclusive clue until a murder raises crucial questions.
