La voce delle stelle

La storia narra le vicende di due giovani studenti: Mikako e Noboru. I due, insieme fin dalle scuole superiori, vedono il mondo cambiare sopra le loro teste e i rispettivi destini allontanarli inesorabilmente. Lei infatti decide di arruolarsi nell'esercito dell'ONU nella ricerca di alcuni alieni ostili e diventa il pilota di un mech. Lui rimane sulla terra a guardare dal basso l'allontanarsi delle navi spaziali dirette verso l'esterno del sistema solare. L'unico mezzo che permetterà loro di rimanere in contatto sarà la posta elettronica controllata tramite cellulare, ma l'allontanarsi dei mezzi dell'esercito fuori dell'atmosfera della terra farà sì che lo scambio di messaggi diventi sempre più lungo.
