One night the girls of K3 find a mysterious storybook in their bedroom. When they read it, the face of a handsome prince appears. Fortunately, the prince has help from the fairy Fiorella, who helps him in his difficult quest. Fiorella picks up the K3 girls in her carriage and takes them to Fairytale Land, high above the clouds. Capitalism: A Love Story

Questa volta Michael Moore prende le mosse da lontano, addirittura dall'Impero Romano, per mostrare come i segnali di decadenza di quella potenza antica siano tutti rintracciabili nella realtà odierna. La domanda è più che mai esplicita e con la risposta già incorporata: quanto è alto il prezzo che il popolo americano paga a causa della confusione operata tra il concetto di Capitalismo e quello di Democrazia? Per Moore i due termini non coincidono anzi sono in più che netta opposizione soprattutto ora, dopo la crisi mondiale di cui tutti paghiamo le conseguenze. Per sostenere la sua tesi questa volta il polemista di Flint (cittadina a cui fa ancora una volta ritorno vent'anni dopo Roger & Me) fa un uso molto più ridotto di gag verbali e visive (anche se non ci risparmia un nuovo doppiaggio del Gesù di Zeffirelli in versione liberistico-sfrenata). Perché questa volta il tema è talmente serio che lo spazio per la risata non può che essere ridotto.

Il sogno ceco

La rinascita del documentario porta con sé la necessità di un complessivo ripensamento del glossario cinematografico. L'idea per il progetto finale di questi due studenti alla scuola cinematografica della Repubblica Ceca è sensazionale: mettere in piedi una campagna promozionale per un immenso centro commerciale, con tanto di spot in radio e in tv, cartellonistica, volantini, sito web, tutti realizzati dalle più blasonate agenzie dei vari settori. Niente di sensazionale? Beh, il fatto è che il centro commerciale, come dire, non esiste! Tutto viene preparato in grande stile per l'apertura ufficiale in un mattino autunnale, quando la gente andrà (se andrà) a frotte all'inaugurazione del "Sogno Ceco". Come chiarito nel film stesso, è incredibile che un'operazione del genere sia stata possibile, ma è successo. Basta quest'idea a rendere assolutamente imperdibile un film che, tra l'altro, diverte, illumina, sconvolge.
