Un film documentario sperimentale tedesco girato a Berlino da Walter Ruttmann nel settembre del 1927, che descrive una giornata nella grande metropoli tedesca, che proprio in quegli annii stava vivendo un grande boom industriale, e permette di dare uno sguardo alle abitudini di vita e di lavoro di quei tempi. L'idea di Ruttman era quella rappresentare la metropoli berlinese come un organismo vivente: il regista vedeva un'analogia tra la vita della città, dal lento risveglio della città alla frenesia del giorno fino al progressivo spegnimento serale, e l'andamento di una sinfonia.

Un gruppo di persone sono in piedi lungo la piattaforma della stazione ferroviaria di La Ciotat, in attesa di un treno. Il treno arriva da lontano, finché alla fine si ferma alla piattaforma. Le porte delle vetture si aprono e gli assistenti aiutano i passeggeri a scendere e salire. La leggenda narra che, quando il film fu mostrato la prima volta, il pubblico fuggì dal caffè in preda al terrore, perché convinti che il treno avesse potuto investiti. Anche se si pensa che la leggenda non sia altro che un racconto promozionale, gli spettatori rimasero certamente sbalorditi dalle capacità del cinematografo.

Bypass - Quale futuro?

Questo documentario-inchiesta segue le vicende relative alla realizzazione del bypass ferroviario della città di Trento, attraverso le testimonianze dirette di tecnici competenti e di chi si è speso, con impegno ed energia, per tutelare il diritto dei cittadini del capoluogo trentino di decidere le sorti del proprio territorio. L’opera, proposta da RFI (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana), prevede infatti l’attraversamento della città con un tracciato in sinistra del fiume Adige e sotto la collina est. Il progetto, tuttavia, ha dimostrato di non rispettare il territorio della città di Trento, le zone agricole a sud, le sorgenti e la fragilità geologica della stessa collina est. La proposta, inoltre, prevede di attraversare le zone inquinate ex-Sloi ed ex-Carbochimica, minando l’integrità ed il tessuto sociale ed economico del centro storico e del quartiere di San Martino ed esaurendosi con un aggravamento irreversibile della separazione fisica della zona Gardolo-Roncafort.
