Girl's Secrets

Graphic portrayal of society's struggle to balance tradition and modernity in modern-day Egypt. "Girl's Secrets" tells the story of sixteen-year-old Yasmeen, whose out-of-wedlock pregnancy sparks tragic consequences. The film articulates the many questions on the minds of most Egyptians and Muslims around the world: Should women abide by Islam's stringent dress code? How can parents screen out unwanted Western influences? Should Egyptian schools teach sex education? Should teen-age boys and girls socialize?

Nawara

Nawara works as a housemaid for a family closely linked to the Mubarak regime. Hadath Fe 2 Talaat Harb

Four stories take place in a furnished apartment that we follow through the doorman and his family who live on top of the building in a miserable room. In the first story, a doctor tries to treat a figure with a political position. In the second story, Hassan meets in the 1970s with his old friend Nadim, who comes from Lebanon during its Civil War. The third story takes place at the beginning of the new millennium and the takeover of businessmen. As for the fourth story, it takes place before January 2011 when Sami returns under pressure from his family to sell the apartment and the whole building.

Experimental Summer

Both Mahmoud and Zeinab join hands to search for the original version of the first Egyptian independent film that was made back in the 1980s, all copies of which were either destroyed or confiscated for unknown reasons by the government film agency, an entity that governed film production and distribution at the time.
