Anatomy of Evil

Lulek, a hit man, is released from prison and given an offer he can't refuse by the man who put him away. If he kills the chief of the Central Bureau of Investigations, he will earn a huge sum of money and have his record cleared so he can leave.

St. Barbara's Day

A coal mine director invites Jacob, a TV series star, to add splendor to the celebration of St. Barbara's Day, the patroness of miners. Basia, a worker from the sorting department, is chosen to hand Jakub the welcoming loaf of bread. The two completely different worlds come together: flashy, success oriented strangers from Warsaw and traditional, modest and unwilling to change Silesians.

Just Friendship

Birds Are Singing in Kigali

We meet ornithologist Anna in 1994 just as genocide is raging in Rwanda, perpetrated by the majority Hutus against the Tutsis. Anna manages to save the daughter of a colleague whose family has been murdered, and she takes her to Poland. But the woman returns to Rwanda to visit the graves of her loved ones. The director originally worked on the movie with her husband Krzysztof Krauze (My Nikifor – Crystal Globe, KVIFF 2005), but after his death in 2014 she eventually finished this challenging picture alone.

The Fence

Mother (Maria Seweryn) and daughter (Michalina Rodak) live alone in a small house on the outskirts of the village. Their close relations get distorted by appearing of a mysterious man. Are women able to defend themselves from mutual jealousy and distrust? The film is based on the story of Aleksandra Duda "Olive" and refers to Eighth Commandment "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor." – as a part of film cycle produced within the project „Dekalog 89+”. Tomek Matuszczak is one of the ten young directors which has taken the challenge of making new film on the Decalogue Commandment's impact for young generations, due to the project made on 20th anniversary of launching the famous "Decalogue" by Krzysztof Kieślowski.
