Tito is 13 years old and extremely gifted at soccer, his genius brings him a contract that lifts him and his family out of poverty. He shines with his goals, but turns into a petty player, drops out of school, and has no friends. Tito becomes the breadwinner of the family and his father no longer has the authority to force him to finish school. When Tito is one step away from consecrating himself, something unexpected will make his dream disappear. Having lost everything he must return to his village. Tito will have to face the most difficult challenge of his life: to stand up and keep going.

Anina

Anina Yatay Salas is a ten-year-old whose name spells trouble: those three palindromes in a row are an ongoing source of teasing at school. When a playground fight results in mysterious punishment, Anina will learn to put her problems in perspective and empathize with others in this sweet little daydream of a tale.

La Matinée

This is the story of a group of veteran musicians joined by two young artists to perform together after more than 20 years of inactivity in the Uruguayan carnival scene. In addition to demonstrating their talent, this film provides a look at their personal lives, lives that have always revolved around the magic of the carnival (Which lasts just a month per year), but that inevitably must make room for their daily life, far from show business and public recognition.

A Moonless Night

A divorced taxi driver shows up with a black eye at the home of his ex-wife’s new family; he’s been invited to dinner and he desperately wants to reconnect with his young daughter. A professional magician’s car breaks down and he ends up spending an emotionally intense night with a young, widowed toll booth worker. A singer songwriter serving a lengthy prison sentence is released for one night to perform at a local community centre. These three deeply engaging stories about yearning for connection unfold in parallel, one New Year’s Eve in a small town in central Uruguay, balancing the universality of human suffering with a powerful sense of hope.

78 Revoluciones

Marcel Keoroglian, a public figure in Uruguay thanks to his works in carnival, television, radio and cinema, has at home eighteen records of the 1949 carnival that have never been heard. These records were recorded by José Goglian, an Armenian immigrant, who in the 1940s lived in Villa del Cerro (a Montevidean neighborhood made up of many immigrant groups) and who invited his neighbour carnival musicians to his apartment to record them with a phonograph. This documentary is focused on Marcel's passionate bond with the murga genre, as he writes the lyrics for a group that is preparing for the next carnival, while looking for a way to revive the music of these albums that awaited sixty-eight years to be heard.
