The arrival of three beautiful and uninhibited girls from the North, the daughters of an engineer who has moved to run a factory, brings the turmoil amongst the young people of the town. Stories of love, betrayals, state money (stolen) and broken promises intertwine. All through the eyes of Carlo (alter ego of the director Sergio Rubini), the youngest.

In a high school in the outskirts of Rome, it's the last day before the summer holidays. A literature teacher reminisces the past year and wonders what will become of the students he cared for as if they were his children.

This and That

Two episodes. The 1st is 'Amore impossibile' (Impossible love). Giulio is a comic book draftsman. He is passing through a creativity depressed period. One day his editor makes him meet a blond nice girl. Immediately Giulio fall in love and starts to draw his impossible love story into a new comic book. The 2nd is 'Quello dal basco rosso' (the one with the red beret). Sandro, a mature man, meets one of his former girlfriend and her daughter Daniela. Daniela couldn't have sex with her boyfriend because of a childhood remembrance. In fact she always remember her mother having sex with a man wearing a red beret. She discovers that man is Sandro, makes love with him and soon recovers from her obsession.

Ciao America

Having recently earned his college degree, Lorenzo Primavera (Eddie Malavarca) leaves his home in Boston to travel to his family's ancestral homeland in Italy -- as was requested by his late grandfather. Upon arriving, Lorenzo is offered a short-term position as coach for an American-style football team by the team's manager, Giulio Fellini (Maurizio Nichetti). As the young American immerses himself in his new duties, he makes the acquaintance of Paola Angelini (Violante Placido) and the two begin a friendship that quickly blossoms into something more. In between spending time with Paola and working with the team, Lorenzo also begins investigating his own family's history and learns the reason for his grandfather's departure from Italy, as well as why his grandfather never returned to visit. As Lorenzo begins to forge an identity for himself in Italy -- not to mention strong romantic attachments to Paola -- he must eventually decide whether or not to return to the States.

Astrid, Elli and Isabella go camping together as they used to. However, not only because Elli has breast cancer, nothing is like it used to be. Only when Astrid steals the savings of a man who has died in an accident the three leave old habits to renew their friendship in Italy.

The Bishop's Bedroom

Mario, a rich and eccentric war hero befriends Marco, a loner with a sailboat, and takes him home to meet his estranged wife Cleofe and sexually repressed sister in law Matilde. Mario confesses his love for Matilde and so ensues a love triangle.

When a love story ends and ones does not know how to say goodbye, here comes the classic excuse: "I'm leaving you because I love you too much." With this exact sentence Daniela says goodbye to Mariano and disappears from his life. His friends try to help him, but Daniela is always in his thoughts. Finally seems to portend the nail that will drive the nail in the guise of a beautiful Brazilian. But winning does not show up at all easy.
