The White Lions

Only three white cubs have reached adulthood in the wilds of South Africa since white lions were first documented there in 1975. When he arrived, he walked into one of the most horrific scenes of the 20th century. Cacaso, a Brazilian poet, lived in Rio de Janeiro. Born Antonio Carlos de Brito (1944-1987) he was one of the leaders of the marginal poetry movement. Cacaso filled notebooks not only with poems but reflections, drawings and collages. He also became a lyricist and partner of celebrated songwriters such as Tom Jobim, Edu Lobo, Toninho Horta, João Donato and Sivuca.

Crime considers the themes of crime, crime addiction, society and freedom through the personality of Mustafa Serttas, a.k.a. the Devil (Tavuri) who spent half his life behind bars for theft and fraud. Mustafa Serttas, a primary school dropout raised in a poor, broken home in Cyprus, began stealing as a child. He later developed this early experience into a lifestyle or, as he put it, an 'obsession'.
