27: Gone Too Soon

Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison all died at the age of 27 between 1969 and 1971. At the time, the coincidence gave rise to some comment, but it was not until the death of Kurt Cobain, about two and a half decades later, that the idea of a "27 Club" began to catch on in public perception, reignited with the death of Amy Winehouse in 2011. Through interviews with people who knew them, such as music stars, critics, medical experts and unseen footage, the lives, music, and artistry of those who died at 27 are investigated with a bid to find answers.

Sunshine Daydream is a concert film starring the Grateful Dead. On a blistering summer day in 1972, the Grateful Dead took the stage on the grounds of the Oregon Country Fair in Veneta, Oregon. for what would become one of the most legendary concerts of the band’s storied history. Considered to be the Merry Pranksters last "Acid Test", the concert offers a snapshot of the band at the peak of its playing prowess. The setlist that day included memorable performance of "Sugaree, " "Deal, " "Black-Throated Wind, " "Greatest Story Ever Told, " "Bird Song" and a mind-melting version of "Dark Star" that stretches over 30 minutes. The show, which was recorded and filmed but never released, has since become the most-requested live show in Grateful Dead history. Captured February 15-Feb 2017 at the band’s sold-out concert at Glasgow’s historic venue Barrowland Ballroom, the two-hour “Kings Among Scotland” incorporates the band’s entire live show. The concert is presented in two parts. For part one, Anthrax performed the “favorites” that had been voted on pre-show by the band’s fans and includes gems like “Madhouse,” “Be All, End All,” “Breathing Lightning,” and “A.I.R.” The band augmented the stage production for part two, with ramps and staircases and other production values while they tore into their classic 1987 album Among The Living, performing “Caught In A Mosh,” “I Am the Law,” “Indians,” “Eflinikufesin (N.F.L.),” and more. “It was a pretty intense show,” added guitarist Scott Ian, “especially when the crowd was so insane, the floor actually started moving up and down.”

It was written by Hans Alfredsson and Tage Danielsson, commonly known as Hasseåtage and directed by Tage. The show premièred on 15 February (although it had a sneak première on 9 February) 1976 on the theater Göta Lejon in Stockholm. It was the last of the three "Dog-revues"; the first was Gröna hund (Green Dog) the second being Gula Hund (Yellow Dog). Both Hasse and Tage starred in various roles. Other cast members were Gösta Ekman, Monica Zetterlund, Lena Nyman, and Tommy Körberg. The song quartet EBBA (Lena Eriksson, Lars Bagge, Kersint Bagge and Bo Andersson) and Gunnar Svenssons Bandhundband.

Duran Duran : Songbook Performance

This is a recording of Duran Duran's performance for the SkyArts Songbook, a TV programme broadcast in two parts. The show was an intimate live event, that showcased the band's musical catalogue and included a rare live performance of "Late Bar". There were only 150 tickets available for the event. The tickets could not be bought, and were be only obtained by winning them through DuranDuranMusic.com. As the performance was for TV there were strictly no cameras allowed and the audience were placed in front and back of Duran Duran on stage. This allowed the band to communicate with the audience on a personal level, with Roger Taylor turning this back on many occasions asking if everything is fine and if there were any wishes for songs to play. John Taylor also commented how intimate the show was.
