Todd Rundgren's Utopia - Live At The Chicago Theatre

After a thirty-year-plus hiatus, Todd Rundgren's Utopia graced the Chicago Theater stage, with the hopes of promising fans an extraordinary, other-worldly concert experience. In the 1990s Todd retired Utopia and reverted to making his own music, with varying degrees of success, and then last year came the announcement of the long-awaited U.S. reunion tour, where the album in review here originates. Recorded in Chicago on 22nd May 2018, the music reflects a run through many of the finer moments of the Utopia back catalogue. Todd is joined by fellow original members Willie Wilcox (drums) and Kasim Sultan (bass), alongside replacement keyboard player Gil Assayas who covered at short notice for an indisposed Ralph Shuckett. The original 70's-formed band established a stellar reputation for stretching the prog rock/pop. Oily to Bed, Oily to Rise

Once again, the Stooges are three hapless tramps. After nearly destroying a farmer's (Richard Fiske) pile of firewood, the boys come to the assistance of the Widow Jenkins (Eva McKenzie), who has just been cheated out of her land by a trio of swindlers (Dick Curtis, Eddie Laughton, James Craig). Attempting to fix the woman's well, the Stooges instead unleash an oil geyser. They manage to retrieve the deed to the land and are allowed to marry the now wealthy Widow Jenkins' daughters. Moe tells Curly to wish for quintuplets, and Curly replies, "We'll honeymoon in Canada!" (a reference to the Dionne quintuplets).

Lysistrata led the women of ancient Greece in forcing men to stop the war, that was devastating the land for 21 years. At secret assembly of the women delegates from both sides of the conflict, Lysistrata declared: "We must refrain from the male altogether - till the men come to terms of peace". Her instruction to every wife or mistress was to refuse all sexual favors whatsoever, and sit prettily dressed in best transparent silks, till the men yield to peace.

It is "The Marriage of Figaro" meets "The Dangerous Liaisons" and it tells the story of two women, Mathilde Seurat, the actress and Julie Renard, the aristocratic wife and a mother (Delphine Forest plays both) with the same face who came from the different parts of society and at one point exchanged their identities and their lives. The movie also features Giancarlo Giannini and great Vittorio Gassman.

Stand By Me

The movie is based on the true story of the "Stray Brothers" and focuses on the group of "Children in Difficult Social Situations". The film tells the story of the wandering journey of a "petty thief" older brother and an "orphan" younger brother, and the warmth of their guardianship and redemption. Ma Liang (Wang Junkai), a boy who wanders alone, meets Xuan Xuan (Guan Zifeng), a child who has been forgotten by his family and has no one to take care of him. Similar destinies have brought the two lonely teenagers closer and closer, and in the midst of the wind and rain, they set up a small home together, embracing to keep each other warm and to protect each other. However, an accident breaks everything, a group of uninvited guests intruded into their lives, Ma Liang and Xuan Xuan's fate and what will happen ......

Eduardo Casanova reveals the reality of sexile and applauds 'the collective struggle every day of the year'. In this documentary piece, the actor and director gives voice to Leo, Patricia, La Estrella, Ariel and Cris, 5 people from the group who have lived through this situation and who have left their home behind to be themselves. Their stories function as testimony and the starting signal for the initiative "Hay Ganas de Orgullo de Pueblo". In addition, the Madrid singer Soleá Morente reverses the theme 'Volver' for the piece, adopting a more optimistic tone to create a key anthem, the soul of the initiative.
