The editor of a sleazy tabloid newspaper has been borrowing money from his lover, the wife of a rich theatrical producer, and promises to marry her when she gets a divorce. The editor sees her husband leaving her apartment and, seeing his opportunity, kills her, takes all his IOUs (and the jewelry) and frames the husband for the murder.

The House Across the Street

Dave Joslin, the managing editor of a big-city newspaper, is demoted and moved to the Miss Lonely Hearts column-writing department by the newspaper's publisher, J. B. But Joslin, aided by Kit Williams, a newspaper woman with whom he is in love, investigate the murder case on their own time.

Rock River Renegades

In Old Wyoming, a gang is plundering stagecoaches of shipped currency and a crusading newspaper editor is trying to get the local marshal replaced, because of his apparent failure to catch the gang, which seems to disappear into thin air after every robbery. The situation escalates when one of the stage drivers is mortally wounded; so the marshal sends for his friends, the Range Busters, to help him catch the criminals. Meanwhile, even the marshal's fiancee, the editor's daughter, turns against him in favor of an aggressive agitator for law and order - who secretly is leading the robber gang.

The parrot climbing into the turkey scene is a Stooge classic. This was the last of many Stooge appearances by supporting actor Bud Jamison, who passed away in September, 1944, at the age of 50. First appearance by Stooge supporting actress Judy Malcolm.

Burdened by a family secret, Adam White lands a job as a newspaper advice columnist.
