Miles Jupp: Fibber in the Heat

In 2006, Miles Jupp decided to jack it all in and embarked on a trip to India in an attempt to become a cricket journalist. All he had to do, he thought, was blag his way into the English press corps and look like he knew what he was doing. In 2010, Miles told the story of that (mis)adventure in a show at the Edinburgh Festival, which received over twenty 4 star reviews. Two UK tours of the show followed, finishing up in London's West End. The book of the story was nominated for The William Hill Sports Book Of The Year. In 2014, Miles (who likes to think things over for a bit) suddenly decided that he wanted to record the show, so he dusted it off and headed to The Torch Theatre in Milford Haven and performed the show all over again in front of some cameras, some microphones and a very nice audience of predominantly Welsh people. In Mexico, his girlfriend Lupita (Cota) receives a telegram with the news and looks for relief in La Virgen de Guadalupe, saint patron of catholic mexicans. After reading a book about the Virgin legend, Lupita falls asleep. Next morning, she receives good news, her boyfriend is alive. Together they go to La Villa del Tepeyac (a church devoted to La Virgen de Guadalupe) and thank for the miracle.

The Food of Fear

The story unfolds in an underclass neighborhood of Mexico City, a place where a unique troupe features a circus act, led by Don Ramón (López Moctezuma himself.) He and his wife Petra (Isaura Espinosa) have to take care of the daughter of a neighbor who has been jailed for drug trafficking. Petra decides that the girl (who is only 5 years old) must earn a living, entrusting her several domestic tasks; the little girl, which he nicknamed "Flea" befriends Pepito, who works as a clown on the street. Things get complicated when somone with satanic tendencies arrives to Ramon's house, and the visitor develops an interest on Petra. A fight between the three adults causes that "lil Flea" suffers a fatal accident, so the solution will be to use her meat for the tamales sold by Petra.

Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh
