The Fable

Spring 1989. Jhumroo

Anjana lives a wealthy lifestyle with her dad, Dwarka Nath, in a hilly region in India. Then she meets with local villager, Jhumroo, and both fall in love with each other. Jhumroo takes her home to introduce her to his mom, Kamla, who approves of her instantly. Jhumroo is heart-broken and goes to meet with Anjana, who does tell him that she loves him, but must obey her father. What Jhumroo and Anjana do not know is that she is not Dwarka's daughter, but is the daughter of Kamla, and abducted at a very young age.

Kaamchor

Suraj has been a slacker all his adult life. He hates any kind of work - rather it's paying or volunteer. One day he gate-crashes a wedding ceremony and finds out that the groom is to live with his In-laws. To his delight, he finds out that the bride has an unmarried sister. And so Suraj starts to woo the unmarried sister, Geeta. Slowly Geeta falls in love with Suraj, and with the approval of her wealthy dad, Rai Bahadur Chunilal Sanghvi, both get married. Suraj now looks forward to an easy life at his In-laws, but that is not to be so, for Geeta wants to move out. Suraj goes along with Geeta, but then starts showing his true colors, and openly demands a share in his wealthy father-in-law's estate, even if it means taking the family to court.

Kudrat

The setting is in scenic Simla, summer capital of the British Raj in the 1970's. Chandramukhi from Bombay is on holiday with her parents and so is Naresh, a US educated medical professional with his parents. Chandramukhi and Naresh show interest in each other, encouraged by their parents. Choudhary Janak Singh, an important and wealthy man lives with his lawyer daughter Karuna in a lovely colonial period mansion. Their house-guest Mohan, a lawyer from Chandigarh is a protege of Janak Singh. Karuna and Mohan develop a romantic interest. The story of Paro and Madho, who lived in pre-independence India comes to affect the present.
