The Karen Carpenter Story

Story of the meteoric rise and sudden fall of Karen Carpenter, who became a famous singer before battling anorexia and bulimia. This made-for-TV movie is the authorized version of the life of Karen Carpenter and was made with the approval of Richard Carpenter and the Carpenter family.

The Home and the World

When the movie opens, a woman is recalling the events that molded her perspective on the world. Years ago, her husband, a wealthy Western-educated landowner, challenged tradition by providing her with schooling, and inviting her out of the seclusion in which married women were kept, to the consternation of more conservative relatives. Meeting her husband's visiting friend from college, a leader of an economic rebellion against the British, she takes up his political cause, despite her husbands warnings. As the story progresses, the relationship between the woman and the visitor becomes more than platonic, and the political battles, pitting rich against poor and Hindu against Moslem, turn out not to be quite as simple as she had first thought.

The Jungle Fight

The Jungle Fight is an action-packed love story about courage, trust, and the triumph of good over evil. David, a handsome football player, and Victoria, a talented singer, are a couple living in the United Kingdom. One day, they decide to go for a long walk in a serene jungle to enjoy nature. David drives them there and brings a black bag filled with essentials like water, fruits, and snacks. Unbeknownst to them, a gang led by Captain and his friends Billy, Rosy, and Spike is lurking in the jungle, searching for monkeys to trade for weapons. Billy mistakenly believes David's black bag contains money and informs Captain. The gang decides to follow David and Victoria. When they finally confront the couple, Captain demands the bag, but David refuses to hand it over. A fierce fight ensues, with David taking on the gang members one by one.

Gunfight at Comanche Creek

Comanche Creek, Colorado, 1875: Prisoner Jack Mason is broken out of jail by a gang of strangers. Garden of the Dead

The boisterous good humor of Jurmala, the nickel-mine owner, is, if anything, only barely dented by the raging battles in Finland before, during and after World War Two. Indeed, the resource he is wrenching from the earth's bowels is necessary to all forms of industrial activity, and is especially necessary for military applications. Thus, he has no reason to fear that he will ever run out of customers. This doesn't prevent him from using every possible means to entice them. At home, his relationship with his wife is not so prosperous, and they resort to some extraordinary means to try and keep on an even keel.

The film tells the story of Omar, a construction worker from Villa Elisa, a small town in the province of Entre Ríos, Argentina, who rejects the idea that big screens may disappear. He will do anything he can to preserve that which he has held on to since he was a child, even though he has to build it with the remnants of what was.
