The war in Ukraine continues to leave indelible scars, but beyond military strategies and political speeches, there are stories that are rarely told: those of people who survive day by day amid the conflict. In an effort to document the human reality of war, Rubén Díez (Lethal Crysis), one of the most influential Spanish-speaking travel and exploration content creators, and Ignacio Marín, a renowned photojournalist specializing in war zones, traveled to the heart of the conflict in December 2024 to capture the experiences of those who resist in the shadows. For two weeks, they visited trenches, evacuation points, rehabilitation centers, and front lines, meeting soldiers, doctors, civilians, and refugees who shared their daily lives in a world where normalcy has been destroyed. When the conflict is between the state and its people, she speculates that gaming strategies empower civilians in resistance movements to counter imperialism through its own operative logic. But once we upload our consciousness, are we able to return to the sensibilities and political motivation that inspired the revolution to begin with?

In January 2025, experimental jazz duo Myshko Birchenko and Yevhen Puhachov, members of Hyphen Dash, travelled to Kramatorsk without any pre-made drafts or demo recordings to use music as a vessel to capture the emotions present in a place on the edge of a battle for survival and explore the therapeutic nature of music and improvisation in the brutal reality of war. They packed all the equipment into a car, drove 700 kilometres from Kyiv to the frontline city Kramatorsk, and turned one of many basements which serve as shelters into a makeshift recording studio. As a result, they recorded over 300 minutes of music, which were eventually distilled into a 90-minute album.
