In support of her fifth studio album, Private Dancer (1984), the tour helped to establish Turner as a major solo artist of the 1980s and a dynamic solo performer, after initially starting out singing with ex-husband Ike Turner's band. The tour is often considered one of the best comebacks in music history. The 180-date, eleven-month world tour traveled across Europe, North America and Australasia. Right at the start of the much-anticipated Orwellian year, Paik and Co. were keen to demonstrate satellite TV's ability to serve positive ends-- Namely, the intercontinental exchange of culture, combining both highbrow and entertainment elements. A live broadcast shared between WNET TV in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris, linked up with broadcasters in Germany and South Korea, reached a worldwide audience of over 10 or even 25 million (including the later repeat transmissions).

Só no Sertão

A family in the interior of Ceará decides to travel in the dead of night after the family patriarch, the city's mayor, is accused of illegal gold mining. In the rush, the middle son is left behind. With the repercussion that the property would be empty, a gang called Bode Caolho organizes to invade the mayor's farm. What they didn't imagine was that a child would be there and would use all the tricks to defend his family's residence.
