Omar Marzouk - War, terror and other funny stuff

The show “War, terror and other funny things” by comedian Omar Marzouk played to full houses in Denmark in the spring of 2005 and more than 15,000 people saw the 90-minute show, which was immortalized on DVD in Det Ny Teater. It's controversial and hilarious, and there are plenty of extras. Since then, Omar has performed to packed houses at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the world's biggest comedy festival. The show was received with enthusiasm by both the audience and critics from several British newspapers. This fall, Omar performed three shows at the legendary London Soho Theater and has a major feature in Time Out, the biggest guide to London's entertainment scene. His twisted brain takes us past everything from religion, technology, social values and supermarket queues, to toilet paper and pensioners' manic need for gardening, and his trademark equilibristic word games show a comedian in his most versatile show yet.

Rune Klan: Det Blå Show

In “The Blue Show”, Rune Klan jumps out of the magic closet and tells us about his relationship to - and with - tricks from the subtle world of secret magic. This time, magic has been given a larger place in the show than before. A more stylish show than ever before, including a guest appearance by Danish electronic music wunderkind Mike Sheridan. Jonatan Spang: Spark i Løgsuppen

Following last year's large-scale tour Jonatan Spangs Familie, you now have the opportunity to see it on a smaller scale and in a more traditional format – a classic stand-up club night. Jonatan wants to return to his roots before returning to Nørrebro Teater to perform in the spring. The title, "Spark i løgsuppen" (Kick in the onion soup), is taken from a statement made by Pia Kærsgaard earlier this year. She said that she would like to be Minister of Culture and, in that connection, was very critical of many prominent Danish artists.

Now that all the boring and practical stuff is out of the way, I'll tell you a bit about the show. Well, I'm not going to tell you what the show is about. You'll have to go and see it. But I can tell you a bit about how it was recorded, because it's a bit different from what you're used to. Since my shows are often very different from night to night and since I've sat in an editing room with a recording and thought; “F*ck, sh*t, that joke was much better the last time I did it”, this time I made the decision to record the show in Horsens, Odense, Aarhus and Copenhagen and cut the 4 shows together into one. Whether it was a good decision, I'll leave it up to you to judge, I'm certainly very satisfied. So all I can say is, enjoy... that is, if you pick it up.
