The play revolves around Safwat El-Sherbiny, who comes out of the grave to tell Ghafir his story with his manager at work who was abusive to him, and was trying in various ways to get close to his beautiful wife, desirous of her.

The Cranes Are Flying

Veronika and Boris come together in Moscow shortly before World War II. Walking along the river, they watch cranes fly overhead, and promise to rendezvous before Boris leaves to fight. Boris misses the meeting and is off to the front lines, while Veronika waits patiently, sending letters faithfully. Satantango

Nobody Leaves Alive

“Nobody Leaves Alive” by André Ristum is shot in beautiful but also distancing black and white. Looking at the Venice line-up, this seems to be a trend this year among the maestros of cinema. The film is inspired by true events that took place in the last century in the “Colonia” hospital in Brazil. Whoever didn’t fit the standards of society, or their family’s perception of it, was locked away, tortured, and killed. There were altogether more than 60,000 victims. Hope dies last, and some of the inmates don’t give up the fight. We’re reminded of film classics such as “One Flew Over the Cookoo’s Nest” or “Alcatraz”.

Joys

Tawfik is in the midst of a financial crisis when his relative dies. As the sole heir, he sells her furniture to pay off his debts, only to discover that she left him a precious jewel inside a piece of furniture. As he tries to retrieve it, a gang goes after the jewel as well.

Three Days of Viktor Chernyshyov
