As a sci-fi obsessed woman living in near isolation, Beverly Glenn-Copeland wrote and self-released Keyboard Fantasies in Huntsville, Ontario back in 1986. Recorded in an Atari-powered home-studio, the cassette featured seven tracks of a curious folk-electronica hybrid, a sound realized far before its time. For 20 years, a subculture has emerged in Brazil under society's radar. It is the culture surrounding 'funk carioca', a musical rhythm which mixes the American electronic funk of the 1980s with the most diverse influences of Brazilian music. 'Baile funk' is one of the most interesting musical movements in the world, but it comes from what is at times one of the most violent and poorest places in the world: the slums of Rio de Janeiro (favelas). This music is the personalization of the raw element. Bombastic rhythms coming from the American Miami Bass and samples are fused with powerful rap vocals using Brazilian slang. This documentary tells stories of sex, love, poverty, and pride among Rio's marginalized people. They have their own language, style, and heroes. It's a film that's fast, heavy, and violent like the city itself.

Keigo Oyamada, Tomohiko Gondo, and Christian Fennesz participated as support members.

Jean-Michel Jarre - Starmus: Bridge from the Future

Staged as the opening event of the seventh edition of STARMUS Festival and supported by ESET Digital Security, ‘Bridge From The Future’ was Jarre’s most ambitious live production to date. A sweeping sci-fi soundscape with stunning visual storytelling, choreographed light and laser displays, a 400-drone ballet, fireworks, and an architectural stage, designed by Jarre, that framed the iconic UFO Bridge with twin 30-metre towers. The concert also marked an historic first-time collaboration between Jarre and Queen guitarist Sir Brian May, who joined him on stage for a powerful new arrangement of Dvořák’s ‘New World Symphony’ as well as newly adapted works ‘Bratislava Time’ and ‘Rendez-vous Bratislava’. Jarre was accompanied by longtime collaborator Claude Samard and rising British artist Adiescar Chase, with contributions from the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra and a 19-piece chorus from the Slovak Philharmonic Choir.

Shot on July 23, 1968, this historical 16mm footage of Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention at Whisky a Go Go in West Hollywood, CA has been newly restored from the Vault! The film has been newly synced to the 2023 mixes, marking the first time it's ever been seen with audio. Frank Zappa never had the opportunity to see this footage synced to the music. Now you do. The film was shot in increments and features silent performance footage of The Mothers along with scenes involving The Freaks and the premier of The GTO's (Girls Together Outrageously). In the audience were Flo & Eddie (The Turtles), John Mayall, Elliot Ingber (The Fraternity Of Man), Alice Cooper and members of the Rolling Stones.
