In a Silent Way

A film crew crisscrosses England trying to unravel the mystery surrounding a record released 30 years earlier, 'Spirit of Eden', that defined the passage from light to shadow of its makers, the band Talk Talk and its lead singer Mark Hollis. From overwhelming obstacles to unpredictable encounters, their journey soon turns into an organic quest. With silence as a horizon line. And punk as a philosophy, thinking that music is accessible to all and that the human spirit is above the technique.

Concerto of the Bully

Internet songwriter Chow (Cherry Ngan) is gifted with an extraordinary retentive memory. She never forgets anything she has heard. One day, she was kidnapped by Yung (Ronald Cheng), a street punk, to a remote fish raft so desolate that an escape plan seems to be a mission impossible. In the hope to flee with the only ability she has, Chow offers to give a spiritual music therapy to the rather maniacal kidnapper. What happens next is beyond anyone’s imagination – the two who have nothing in common begin to form an intimate bond and connection through music. More than that, Chow finds immense inspirations on this “floating stage”, while discovering the incredible singing voice and vocal range in Yung – a seemingly hopeless criminal can also possess a voice as captivating as the sound of nature…

Bare Transit

Bare Transit follows the journey of a 23-year-old yoga teacher, Mia, who has travelled back to India from the UK to seek resolution and forgiveness. The film is the debut feature from Irish poet and photographer, O.P. Durkin, and is the first release from creative collective Nodrum. The film was shot in 2019–20 commencing in north India in the mountain town of Minali and continues on a journey in an ancient bus, through the Indian continent to south Goa. The film uses a mixture of professional and amateur actors and crew and was in itself a journey of discovery for all involved. Filming finished just a few weeks before the world and the nature of human interaction changed with the global reaction to the COVID-19 virus. The musical soundtrack comes from the shamanic binaural beats of MEYA.
