A bookshop renowned for its rare works is mysteriously and filled with copies of a book entitled 1, which doesn't appear to have a publisher or author. The strange almanac describes what happens to humanity in a minute. A police investigation begins and the bookshop staff are placed in solitary confinement by the Bureau for Paranormal Research. As the investigation progresses, the situation becomes more complex and the book becomes increasingly well-known, raising numerous controversies. Three young immigrant boys, Wasim, Riaz and Munawar, come of age in the east end of Oslo, Norway. They find school boring and become attracted to the hard boiled gang East Side Crew, run by brothers Sadiq and Khalid. Petty theft soon develops into drug dealing, violence and murder.

A wealthy society doctor decides to research the medical aspects of criminal behaviour by becoming one himself. He joins a gang of thieves and proceeds to wrest leadership of the gang away from its extremely resentful leader.
