Guns N’ Roses: Live In New York 1991

Filmed at the legendary Ritz in 1991, this concert was one of three rehearsal “club” dates for the tour that would ultimately divide the band, and it took place at the 1,400-person-or-so-capacity Ritz. Rose tells the crowd he doesn’t like showing up to rehearsals (shocker) so this was his warmup, but he nevertheless delivers an impressive, throat-shredding performance throughout, even after injuring a leg mid-gig. He even sounds like he’s having fun. He does the Cool Hand Luke “failure to communicate” monologue himself in “Civil War,” which also features Slash riffing on Hendrix’s “Voodoo Child (Slight Return).”

Bond: Live at the Royal Albert Hall

Filmed at their Royal Albert Hall debut gig in September 2000, Bond Live is a slick showcase for four classically trained, ex-session musicians and their fusion of string quartet and rock music. Whatever the hype (four beautiful women wearing scanty tops and dancing with violins while backed by a five-piece rock combo and a small, rarely seen string section), it has nothing to do with making classical music cool and everything to do with sex. In "Duel," first and second violins Haylie Ecker and Eos trade licks "guitar-hero" style, and most of the tracks are new instrumentals written for the album Born, though "The 1812" does manage to reduce Tchaikovsky's overture to a five-minute dance number. With rock-show lighting, synthesizers, dance beats, and a finale involving the "James Bond Theme" followed by a Rio-style fiesta for the closing "Victory--Carnival Mix," this is camp, melodramatic, sexy fun.

Genesis: When in Rome 2007

"When in Rome" is a live DVD by the legendary British rock band Genesis, capturing their performance at Circus Maximus in Rome, Italy, on July 14, 2007, during their highly acclaimed "Turn It On Again Tour." This tour marked the reunion of the band's classic lineup of Phil Collins, Tony Banks, and Mike Rutherford. The decision to make the Rome concert free was a heartfelt gesture of gratitude from Genesis to their Italian fans, who had been loyal supporters since the band's early days in the 1970s. Frank Sinatra: In Concert at the Royal Festival Hall was an CBS musical television special starring Frank Sinatra broadcast on February 4, 1971, of a concert given by Sinatra at London's Royal Festival Hall on November 16, 1970. The special was directed by Bill Miller, and produced by Harold Davison. Sinatra was introduced on stage by Grace Kelly. Kelly had starred alongside Sinatra in the 1956 film High Society, the last film she made before her marriage to Rainier III, Prince of Monaco. Sinatra had been follicularly challenged for many years, hence all the hats in publicity stills, album covers etc. TV directors were forbidden to photograph him from the back because of this. However, at this concert, Sinatra had completed a very successful hair transplant and deliberately turned his back on the main audience a couple of times to acknowledge the audience sitting backstage, along with running his hand over the back of his head to draw attention to his new coiffure.

VOÏVOD: We Are Connected

From unlikely origins in northern Québec at the height of the Cold War, Voïvod’s post-apocalyptic sci-fi aesthetic, fuelled by a youthful obsession with their instruments, took them from underground success to sharing dates and tours with Iron Maiden, Rush, and Metallica. Despite adversity, and perhaps by cosmic intervention or just serendipity, Voïvod found guitarist Daniel “Chewy” Mongrain; subsequently, the band re-ignited their engines and laid a course back to Morgöth via numerous live shows around the world, a comeback album in Target Earth, singles, EPs, and finally, the late-career triumph, The Wake. In 2019, Voïvod were recognized by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences with a Juno Award for best hard rock/metal album of the year for The Wake.

The performance includes 26 songs, including "Sakura Biyori and Time Machine", in which she performed on stage for the first time with her beloved Hatsune Miku, \"DIGNITY\", which featured guest Matsumoto Takahiro (B'z), "Sho", which was performed at last year's NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen and was also performed in collaboration with Universal Studios Japan this year, and "Aishite Ai Shite Ai Shite", a crazy song by Vocaloid P Kikuo, which was also performed on the world tour "Wish". This is a live video work that lasts more than two hours and is full of productions unique to the National Stadium. It contains the second day of the live performance on April 28th.
