Hot Shots! makes fun of a variety of other films, from Dances with Wolves to The Fabulous Baker Boys.

The Cooler

Bernie works at a Las Vegas casino, where he uses his innate ability to bring about misfortune in those around him to jinx gamblers into losing. His imposing boss, Shelly Kaplow, is happy with the arrangement. But Bernie finds unexpected happiness when he begins dating attractive waitress Natalie Belisario.

When in Rome

Disillusioned with romance, Beth, an ambitious New Yorker, travels to Rome for her sister's wedding, where she plucks magic coins from a special fountain of love. Emil i Lönneberga

Emil Svensson lives with his mother and father, little sister Ida, farmhand Alfred, and maid Lina on a picturesque farm in Småland. And if you see in this movie, a sordid portrait of a badly barred humanity, your mind may have gone awry.

Sticky Ends

Badluck is a man with the head of a fish (this is a play on words in French between « poisse » – bad luck and « poisson » – fish). Bubbles of bad luck come out of his mouth. When one of the bubbles follows somebody, it throws a spell on that person. And the victim is sent into a tailspin of misery and bad luck where the worst that can possibly happen always does, right up until death, in the most incredible circumstances (but meaningless for the other protagonists) ends his or her cycle of bad luck. With dark, scathing irony, the “Badluck” Chronicles will allow you to have a great deal of fun at somebody else’s expense. And you won’t even feel guilty about it !

True and False Jigong

The story tells about Jigong, who, at the critical moment of breaking through the final level to become the Dragon-Subduing Arhat, senses the villagers of Baishui Town in distress. He abandons his spiritual practice and journeys to Baishui Town to rescue them. There, he encounters Huang Yuan, who impersonates Jigong and deceives the people, nearly burning Jigong to death. Ultimately, Huang Yuan is moved by Jigong's actions and helps him subdue the demon, saving the people of Baishui Town. Jigong then becomes the Dragon-Subduing Arhat.

Wolf Hollow
