Murilo Peres and Pedro Barros get a once-in-a-lifetime pass to roll on the fabled curves of some undisputed masterpieces of modern architecture. Oscar Niemeyer remains one of the most important architects in modern history. The Brazilian visionary, who died in 2012 aged 104, elevated modern architecture beyond the realms of function and created buildings that are works of art and express the highest attributes of humanity. His work with reinforced concrete in particular created new architectural forms and possibilities, eschewing the tyranny of angles to create waves and swooping arches of such soaring beauty that they represent nothing less than physical poetry.

Filmed across urban hubs like Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, and Paris, the project reimagines traditional skate video aesthetics by pairing stunning cinematography with an original score. The music, crafted by Alex Sowinski of BADBADNOTGOOD under his Group Climate moniker, evokes vintage influences, creating a cohesive audio-visual experience reminiscent of classic skate films while pushing boundaries. The film, directed by Naquan Rollings and produced by Lockhart, stars a talented ensemble of skaters including Jahmir Brown and Carlisle Aikens. It debuted alongside a viewing/listening event at Los Angeles’ HVW8 Gallery, emphasizing Lockhart’s role as both a storyteller and cultural curator​.

The Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat

A group of people are standing along the platform of a railway station in La Ciotat, waiting for a train. One is seen coming, at some distance, and eventually stops at the platform. Doors of the railway-cars open and attendants help passengers off and on. Popular legend has it that, when this film was shown, the first-night audience fled the café in terror, fearing being run over by the "approaching" train. This legend has since been identified as promotional embellishment, though there is evidence to suggest that people were astounded at the capabilities of the Lumières' cinématographe.
