Love at Dal Lake

The scene is set in Kashmir, in the northernmost part of India, where the great Indus River meanders.Kamala, the granddaughter of Maharaja Chandra Kumar, the powerful viceroy of Benares, and who is promised to become the chief lady-in-waiting of the daughter of Goyar, the Grand Duke of Delhi, falls in love with Cavalry Captain Rachman, who hails from a farmer’s household. Her amour with the captain, however, is strongly opposed to by her grandfather and grandmother and aunts, on the grounds that the young lovers are too vastly separated in their respective social position.

Natasha of the Rainbow

In 1932, the shadow of war threatens, but Japan is still at peace. A sponsor of the Imperial Symphony, Lord Kuretake Kimiya, is deathly ill. He calls to his bedside Sanjou Kaoru, who is both the fiancé of his daughter Umeko and an up-and-coming conductor. Lord Kuretake has a very serious request: Many years ago, he had a daughter with a Russian woman and he begs Sanjou to search for her in Shanghai. A Farce in Pigalle is a musical taking place in the year 1900 in the city of Paris, France. Where a young man comes to visit the Moulin Rouge. This man calls himself “Jacques Valette,” and begs to be allowed to work at this dreamlike place. With his arrival, the whole world of the Moulin Rouge is about to be turned on its head! The musical is followed by a Japan Traditional Revue titled "Welcome to Takarazuka." The theme for this revue show comes from the beauty of the four seasons in which the spirituality of the Japanese people is based on. Kabuki legend Bando Tamasaburo is a supervising director of this show, which marks his first collaboration with the Takarazuka Revue.

1789: The Lovers of Bastille

Takarazuka Star Troupe 2023 production. The story is set in France in the latter half of the 1780s. Cracks are starting to appear in the rule of the once-flourishing Bourbon Dynasty. Uprisings by citizens burdened by excessive taxes are a common occurrence throughout the country. Ronan's father was shot to death by officers and his farmland taken away. He makes a desperate vow to take revenge for his father and to have his property returned. Leaving his hometown and heading for Paris, he encounters the young revolutionaries Desmoulins and Robespierre at their stronghold of Palais Royal. Having come into contact with their ideology, he now starts to put his hopes on the coming of a new era.

Nice Work If You Can Get It

Set in the 1920s, Nice Work If You Can Get It is the story of charming and wealthy playboy Jimmy Winter, who meets rough female bootlegger Billie Bendix the weekend of his wedding. Jimmy, who has been married three (or is it four?) times before, is preparing to marry Eileen Evergreen, a self-obsessed modern dancer. Thinking Jimmy and Eileen will be out of town, Billie and her gang hide cases of alcohol the basement of Jimmy’s Long Island mansion. As a member of the Lancaster family (the red roses), he was drawn into conflict with Edward IV and Richard III of the York family (the white roses). This work depicts a man thinking of his mother and the expectations of his friends throughout his life, as he aimed for peace in England and the throne.
