The Tale of How

This lavishly embellished, comically operetta CGI fantasy story takes place in the Indian Ocean, where a flock of “piranha birds” has settled on the back of an octopus. When an octopus is starved, it feeds on birds on its back, but because it is already threatened with extinction, they decide to send a bottle across the sea with a call for help.

The Passengers of Ursa Major

A futuristic cruise ship with a crew of robots is ready to take its first flight. A boy follows his curious dog on board of the ship, but then the ship takes off. The robots sees the boy as a blind passenger and try to get him off the flying ship.

A simplistically rendered girl screams and cries, and her environment changes to reflect her thoughts and mood.

Oh Sheep!

An animated short film about two flocks of sheep and their shepherds who are at odds with one another and attempting to keep them separated.

Experimental Animation

Len Lye scraped together enough funding and borrowed equipment to produce a two-minute short featuring his self-made monkey, singing and dancing to 'Peanut Vendor', a 1931 jazz hit for Red Nichols. The two foot high monkey had bolted, moveable joints and some 50 interchangeable mouths to convey the singing. To get the movements right, Lye filmed his new wife, Jane, a prize-winning rumba dancer.

Os salteadores

In the 40's, after the Spanish Civil War, many republicans defeated by the nationalist forces of Franco found refuge on the bordering mountains in the north of Portugal. Some saw them as brigands, others gave them shelter and helped them on the sly to police forces of Salazar. They were... the Outlaws.

Hen Hop

This joyful short animation features a dancing hen that transforms into an egg. The film was made without a camera by Norman McLaren, who drew directly onto 35 mm movie stock with ordinary pen and ink. Colour was added optically.

The Adventures of Mark Twain

Based on elements from the stories of Mark Twain, this feature-length Claymation fantasy follows the adventures of Tom Sawyer, Becky Thatcher and Huck Finn as they stowaway aboard the interplanetary balloon of Mark Twain. Twain, disgusted with the human race, is intent upon finding Halley's Comet and crashing into it, achieving his "destiny." It's up to Tom, Becky, and Huck to convince him that his judgment is wrong and that he still has much to offer humanity that might make a difference. Their efforts aren't just charitable; if they fail, they will share Twain's fate. Along the way, they use a magical time portal to get a detailed overview of the Twain philosophy, observing the "historical" events that inspired his works.

Passenger tells the story of arriving in a new country to live. Sitting in the back of a taxi, you gradually piece together your story, abstracted and dreamlike, as you progress into the quiet shock of a new world. Your taxi driver, himself a migrant to Australia, navigates the new terrain with you, and acts as your guide while revealing small glimpses of his own story. This 360-degree, stop-motion VR film recreates and investigates the geographic and visual dislocation of arriving somewhere unfamiliar: the beginnings of finding a new home in a foreign land.

Rambutan Adventures

The hero, Rambutan, fights against a rival inside an old convertible launched at high speed. His opponent manages to rush him out of the vehicle and then bends over the hero's girlfriend who desperately resists by kicking him in the face. Meanwhile, Rambutan catches up with the car running. He throws himself on his enemy and gets rid of him then kisses his girlfriend. The rival arises again, separates the two lovers and he and Rambutan fight again. The cycle resumes.

The Fish of the Fish

A small white fish enters the frame and is eaten by a larger one, then the latter is in turn eaten by an even larger fish... At the end, only a huge white fish remains which seems to shrink in size. swimming towards the bottom of the screen. He leaves the frame and the cycle resumes.
