Dolphin Blue: Soar Again, Fuji

Kazuya Uemura is an American veterinarian who has just arrived at the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium. Uemura was busy working as a keeper, even though he was a veterinarian, based on the director's policy of learning about dolphins while doing work as a zookeeper, such as feeding and cleaning the pool. At the end of his busy summer vacation and his work was over, something unusual happened to Fuji, the mother dolphin who gave birth to three children. Her tail was damaged from necrosis. Medicine couldn't help her condition, otherwise, Fuji would die. Uemura decided to amputate Fuji's tail fins. Fuji managed to survive the amputation but was unable to swim. The granddaughter of the director, Michiru, sees Fuji could no longer swim and says to Uemura, "A dolphin that can't swim is not a dolphin." Uemura stood up: "I want Fuji to swim again, I want Fuji to soar in the air." The world's first dolphin tail recovery project has begun.

Clyde Beatty, an animal trainer and circus star, leads a search for his missing girlfriend and her father who were on an expedition looking for a lost tropical island. Using a dirigible as his mode of transportation, Beatty and his band head off in search of the missing explorers only to crash their airship on the same island their friends are located. Battling wild animals and a gang of greedy men searching for gold, Beatty and his party must rescue his girlfriend and father all the while trying to escape their jungle island. On an African safari with his friend Grant, Clyde Beatty plans to buy some black-maned Numbian lions from Jo Carter but her animals are wiped out by a fire. Despite interference by rival dealer Gorman, who hopes to ruin Jo, Beatty saves her business by helping her to capture an adult gorilla. (2nd story) When Grant is bitten by a tsetse fly and falls ill, Beatty heads for the nearest hospital through the territory of the dangerous Matabeles tribe. They are captured and condemned to death by Grubbs, a white man living with the tribe and stealing their gold. Using the Matabele Boy King as a shield, Beatty and Grant make an escape and Grubbs is forced to accompany them, leaving his loot behind.
