The Wide Open Project

A tortured soul seeks meaning in life. "The Wide Open Project" is an artistic and experimental visual album about the emerging artist Zinity. Created under self-destructive circumstances and sleepless nights, the film weaves emotion through three individually crafted songs. Together, they form a fragmented escape from the grip of depression. Through the eyes of a fragile artist, the world appears cold and indifferent. Because art is not a choice — it’s an obsession, an addiction. But how do you live with a part of yourself that you are doomed to destroy?

VOLCANO

Featuring a stellar cast and a breathtaking score, "VOLCANO" ignites the screen with its explosive performances and emotional depth. Will West returns to play the lead and delivers a mesmerising portrayal, capturing the essence of a conflicted artist torn between loyalty, ambition, and his ongoing romantic narrative with ‘Julia’, played by Mette Linturi. We find them disconnected and on opposing sides of an ongoing dance competition between two groups within our TV Show. The chemistry between the rival dancers crackles with intensity, revealing the complexities of human connection in the face of fierce competition.

In this graduation film and modern interpretation of the famous epic, Odysseus relates how he, after winning the Trojan War, resolutely returns to his home in Ithaca. A story about psychedelic lotus flowers, introverted one-eyed giants, sexy Sirens and queer witches. About sea, wind, and carnivorous drag queens. And about letting go.Based on a Spotify playlist full of pop music by contemporary celebrated artists, including Frank Ocean, Caroline Polachek, Charli XCX, Rosalía, Nicolás Jaar and James Blake.

Luckily, she has a sweet and unapologetic best friend who sticks up for her when she gets bullied by the other students whose brains are under control by the Principal and his wicked staff. With the help of the magical friends they meet along the way, as well as an Angelic Spirit Guide, they are able to gain the strength they need to fight off the school’s belligerent patriarchal conditioning.

It is a cinematic, musical, and surreal journey that follows two stoic outlaws as they wander through a world suspended between end and beginning, dream and reality. Their road trip leads them through strange places and encounters with lost souls, immersing them in both absurd and philosophical reflections. Shot in a guerrilla filmmaking style with a warm, grainy look, each poetic tableau of their adventure weaves together the different segments of this unique anthology directed by international filmmakers. In these parallel realms, it is not the story that inspires the music, but rather the music that gives birth to the stories.

The Rammstein - Live aus Berlin DVD is a compilation of two live concerts filmed at Berlin's open-air Parkbühne ("park stage") Wuhlheide in August 1998. The DVD offers 17 of the band's songs, most of which are found on the two CD albums "Sehnsucht" and "Herzeleid." The show itself is a very entertaining performance with plenty of the usual stunts, pyrotechnics, and lighting effects you'd expect from an industrial metal band.

While some of the hits are performed, this night at the Wiltern is for the rarely played classics, including Stray Cat Blues, No Expectations and a cover of Everybody Needs Somebody to Love featuring a guest spot by the legendary Solomon Burke.

Sergei Prokofiev's setting of the fairy tale "Cinderella" premiered at Moscow's Bolshoi Theater in 1945. In 1986, Rudolf Nureyev, then ballet director of the Paris Opera, choreographed the ballet anew and transposed the story into a private cinema, with sets reminiscent of Fritz Lang's "Metropolis." ARTE shows the Paris Opera performance from December 31, 2018.
