The soldiers threaten to shoot her unless she turns the women back, buy Joan comes face-to-face with the ruler and kills herself, as her message from the women that they refuse to make another generation victims of a ruthless militarism.

La carrozza d'oro

Il viceré di una colonia spagnola si invaghisce della prima donna di una compagnia di comici italiani, Camilla. A dimostrazione del suo amore, le regala una carrozza tutta d'oro. Ma pare che non si addica a un viceré un tale amore, né un tale comportamento: i nobili gelosi e preoccupati gridano allo scandalo minacciando il viceré. Questi, impressionato, sta per cedere. Quando Camilla gli sbatte in faccia il suo disprezzo, egli tenta inutilmente di riconquistarla. La bella Camilla ha altri due spasimanti: un cavaliere e un torero, ma tutti e tre la deluderanno e alla fine la commediante sceglierà quella che è la sua vera passione: il teatro.

L'ora della sinfonia

Il maestro Topolinskij (alias Topolino) dirige un'orchestra radiofonica eseguendo l'overture della "Cavalleria Leggera" di Franz von Suppé. Lo sponsor Sylvester Maccheroni (ovvero Pietro Gambadilegno, chiamato in originale "Macaroni") ne ordina una nuova esecuzione dal vivo. Il giorno dell'esibizione però Pippo fa cadere gli strumenti musicali sotto un ascensore, schiacciandoli. Gli orchestrali cercano così di arrangiarsi con quel che resta degli strumenti, ma i suoni che ne escono producono solo effetti comici. Tra di essi un irritato Paperino arriva addirittura ad andarsene così che Topolino è costretto a minacciarlo con una pistola per farlo tornare al suo posto ed eseguire il pezzo finale. Alla fine, Maccheroni è disperato perché sicuro che sia stato un fiasco, ma a sorpresa il pubblico applaude la performance.
