Shrieking in the Rain

At a movie studio in 1988, rookie director Hanako Hayashi is making her directorial debut, the erotic As Far as Love Will Take Us. She's under pressure from her producer and crew. When she is about to shoot the climax of the film, numerous problems arise. To make matters worse, the set is visited by a censor from the Film Certification Committee, and the key scenes end up being cut out to avoid an R rating. Can Hanako realise her dream?

During their imprisonment, their fathers forged an unbreakable friendship, but only one of them, Paulina's father, survived to return to his family. Now, 45 years later, the filmmakers and their families reconstruct the last days before their fathers were taken and what lay in store for them while in captivity. With actors re-enacting these experiences on set, this film within a film unfolds and generations of the two families witness the past play out before their eyes. Filmed as Chile rises once more with a strong social movement against a repressive state, Meeting Point shows grandparents and parents passing down valuable lessons of freedom and equality.

Guido Magnone - L'artista

Guido Magnone disegna a mano scatole di cartone per la piccola attività dei suoi genitori. Un amico pittore ama la sua pennellata e lo spinge a frequentare le Belle Arti. Supera un concorso esterno, lo vince, fa amicizia con gli scultori César e Féraud, surrealisti, un pugno di bohémien. Ha poi scoperto la montagna ed è diventato rapidamente uno dei migliori alpinisti della sua generazione. Ha fatto conquiste prestigiose come la parete ovest dei Drus nelle Alpi, le prime salite del Fitz Roy in Patagonia con Lionel Terray o del Makalu in Himalaya... Magnone ha anche partecipato alla creazione dell'UCPA e sarà presidente della Groupe de Haute Montagne dal 1961 al 1965. Dal 1977 Guido torna alla sua prima passione: la scultura, per dedicarsi completamente ad essa intorno al 1990. Riprende ad esporre nel 1996. Nel 2002 espone le sue sculture a Parigi, Bourg-la- Reine, Aosta poi a Etroubles nel 2009.
