Sir Bruce gains possession of a love letter written to Ned by Lady Helen and divorces her. Ned goes to Africa, and Lady Helen comes to the United States, where she encounters Rudolph Solomon, an art collector who wants her to become his mistress. The noblewoman at first refuses, but when her money runs out, she agrees to the proposal and attends a party at his home. Ned, who has learned of the divorce, comes looking for Helen and meets her at Solomon's party. Lady Helen is so humiliated and ashamed that she rushes from the house and throws herself in front of an automobile.

Austin Psych Fest 2

The 2nd annual Austin Psych Fest expanded to three days, and was held March 13-15 at the Radio Room, a short lived venue in downtown Austin on 6th St. APF brought two psych legends from the 1960s to the stage: The Seeds’ Sky Saxon performed with Shapes Have Fangs as his backing band, and Texas psych legends The Golden Dawn performed their classic album “Power Plant” in its entirety. Joined by modern psych heavies like Dead Meadow, A Place to Bury Strangers, Wooden Shjips, A Place to Bury Strangers, The Warlocks, and The Black Angels, APF 2009 set the tone for years to come, marking the festival as the definitive showcase of psychedelic rock.

Bikini Hotel

Samantha Vance inherits the Tiki Hotel when her father dies. She decides to fix it up but has problems drumming up business. Her friends throw a party at the hotel and an idea is born to make it the "Bikini Hotel" with all of the staff members wearing bikinis. This elicits jealousy in the nearby Regent Hotel who wish to turn Samantha's hotel into a parking lot. It all culminates in a competition where the winner gets to stay.
