Undertaker’s legendary 18-0 WrestleMania winning streak has never been in greater peril when Triple H challenges the Phenom. Alberto Del Rio looks to fulfill his destiny and take Edge’s World Heavyweight Championship. A bitter and personal rivalry comes to a head when Randy Orton battles CM Punk.. All this and more when the Superstars of WWE invade the Georgia Dome for WrestleMania XXVII.

In un'anonima città svedese s'intrecciano storie di vite umane alle prese con solitudini e inquietudini, ferocemente ingabbiate in scarse soddisfazioni e mancanze di prospettive future. E allora, in un'atmosfera costantemente rarefatta dalla nebbia densa e dal grigiore metropolitano, si muovono figure diafane, che naufragano all'interno della loro anima incerti su dove andare, cosa fare e perché: c'è la giovane maestra che litiga per motivi futili con il marito, c'è la ragazzina follemente innamorata di un giovane musicista, c'è una donna che sfoga sul compagno e nel bere le sue frustrazioni. Ognuno di loro cerca però di rimanere a galla, di reagire con la musica e con l'autoironia, facendosi quasi caricatura di se stesso e delle sue problematiche esistenziali.

Nelle due ore di show i Nightwish ripropongono pezzi dell’era che fu e lo fanno avvalendosi della professionalità inimitabile di Floor Jansen al microfono e le sonorità folk di Troy Donockley. Un live, insomma, per tutti i nostalgici dell’era con Tarja Turunen, ma anche la prova provata che la carriera di un gruppo musicale è un continuum che può (ri)vivere di momenti considerati irreversibilmente defunti. Difficilmente ritroveremo questi brani in altri live show.

L’americano Dale Turner, sassofonista, alcolizzato genio della musica, si esibisce a Parigi, dove fa la conoscenza del disegnatore francese Francis Borler, suo ammiratore sfegatato. Nasce una profonda amicizia tra i due, e Francis finisce per accudirlo, evitare che beva e tirarlo ogni volta fuori dai pasticci. Dale ritorna in America per suonare, Francis lo accompagna. Poco tempo dopo riceverà un telegramma che lo informa della morte del suo grande amico jazzista.Il film è rispettosamente dedicato a Bud Powell e Lester Young”, due jazzisti dalla vita sfortunata e segnata dall’alcool quanto quella del protagonista, interpretato da Dexter Gordon, anch’egli grande sassofonista con problemi di etilismo che in vita suonò con Powell e considerava Young suo maestro. Bertrand Tavernier ha diretto e scritto “Round midnight - A mezzanotte circa”, un film che vuole essere un monumento alla musica e ai musicisti.
