Nel frattempo il dottor Minovsky decide di tradire Zeon per passare alla Federazione, ma l'incontro sulla Luna tra lo scienziato e il ricercatore di punta della Federazione, Tem Ray, è sabotato dai mobile suit di Zeon, che annientano i Guncannon federali e uccidono Minovsky. Tra i piloti di mobile suit figura, tra gli altri, Char. Dopo aver osservato la potenza dei nuovi robot nemici, Tem mette a punto il prototipo di mobile suit denominato "Gundam", i cui progetti vengono trovati dal figlio Amuro nel suo laboratorio sulla colonia di Side 7. Il 3 gennaio 0079, infine, il rinominato Principato di Zeon, dichiara guerra alla Federazione.

Proseguendo con la storia da dove si era interrotta il primo film, incontriamo nuovamente Nana Komatsu mentre si reca ad un grosso evento musicale la cui star è il gruppo dei Blast, la cui voce è Nana Osaki, che finalmente ha ottenuto il successo tanto ricercato. Nonostante il momento felice Nana Komatsu sembra stranamente giù di morale, non più la ragazza spigliata e sempre allegra di un tempo. Tramite il lungo flashback che ricopre l'intera durata della pellicola si scopre quanto accaduto durante gli ultimi tempi alle due giovani. Nana Osaki, costantemente impegnata nel miglioramento e nella promozione della sua band, torna a stare con Ren, il chitarrista dei Trapnest, e tramite i contatti con questa band riesce a far incontrare Takumi e Nana Komatsu (sua grande fan).

Finalmente una favola

I coniugi Mantelli, Gigi e Alice tamponano una giovane coppia, Lorenzo e Gioia. Siccome la ragazza sta per partorire, Gigi e Alice si offrono di accompagnarli subito in ospedale, dove scoprono che i neogenitori vivono con soli 1200 euro al mese, così decidono di aiutarli economicamente. Vedere come vive una coppia di precari fa riflettere Gigi e Alice che pensano di poter sperimentare uno stile di vita economicamente più oculato con i propri figli Ricky e Niki, proprio quando il Natale è alle porte. Parallelamente i Mantelli vivranno altre situazioni economiche spiacevoli, come una truffa ai danni della nonna Wanda e un fido bancario ma, come in tutte le favole che si rispettino, arriva il lieto fine: la famiglia riesce ad arrivare a fine mese, reinventandosi (Gigi, ad esempio, diventa un cuoco) e rinunciando alle spese superflue. Peccato che i due precari, invece, abbiano dilapidato l'intero capitale.

Adesso sono due mostri a combattere contro un solo cyborg ma in suo aito arriva Godzilla.
