On the eve of the publication of their book THE SOPRANOS SESSIONS, TV critics Alan Sepinwall and Matt Zoller Seitz meet at Holsten's in Bloomfield, New Jersey, the location of the controversial last scene of THE SOPRANOS. Their wide-ranging conversation covers television, movies, psychiatry, gangsterism, their 20-year friendship, and their experience covering the series for the Star-Ledger of Newark, the newspaper that Tony Soprano picked up at the end of his driveway.

Un pulcino nella stoppa

Richard Marshall, un giovanotto viziato che ha sempre vissuto nella bambagia, come un pulcino nella stoppa, incontra a Montecarlo un suo connazionale, Henry Van Holkar, in crociera su uno yacht. In realtà, Van Holkar è un contrabbandiere di diamanti e i suoi scagnozzi, credendo che Richard sia una spia, lo buttano in acqua, cercando di farlo affogare. A disgraced sea captain signs on as a crewman on a cargo ship. He discovers that the vessel is captained by the very man who stole his ship, a sadistic brute who also took the former captain's wife and daughter. The ship's crew is composed mostly of sailors who were shanghai'ed aboard and are kept in line by the brutal captain and his even more fearsome first mate. The captain and one of his fellow crewmen--who has fallen in love with the man's daughter, who now belongs to the brutal captain--try to unite the crew to end the brutal reign of the captain and his henchman. Preserved by the Academy Film Archive in partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment in 2007.

Docks of San Francisco

Barbary Coast, San Francisco. The gangster moll Belle gets deeply entangled with gangsters led by her boyfriend Vance. The professional writer John Banning understands why Belle got involved with these criminals. Banning tries to help her get out of that seedy life. However, It is not easy. A lot of action and violence ensues before Belle eventually succeeds.

Jack and Old Mac

Two stylized nursery rhymes are shown. First is "The House That Jack Built" as told with a variety of characters composed of letters that spell out their names (Example: the cow is made up of an intertwined C, O, and W). Next is "Old MacDonald Had a Band" (no, not farm) in which Old MacDonald and his band give way with a hot jazz number (even his animals play instruments). The piece comes to an end when Old MacDonald's wife is tired of doing all the housework and gives him a swift whack on his head with her rolling pin.

No Homo

Ruta would do anything to bring her son and his ex-wife back together. First, to get the two of them to meet, she must kidnap their dog. Now all she has to do is convince her son he's nor gay.
