After starring in a dozen or so HBO Special Presentations, comedian George Carlin has amassed a substantial body of work in the cable channel's vaults. Personal Favorites is a greatest-hits package, a selection of some of Carlin's best moments on HBO from 1977 to 1998 and, not coincidentally, some of his most enduring comic routines from any medium.

Hotel Nueva Isla

In the early twentieth century, the Hotel Nueva Isla was an emblematic luxury hotel. After the Cuban Revolution, it was confiscated by the State and became a shelter for homeless people. Located in Old Havana, today it is an imposing ruin. Jorge de los Rios, a retired clerk, is one of the few residents who remain there, along with La Flaca, his lover, and Waldo, a young itinerant. As the rest leave for safer places, Jorge clings to his dilapidated home and its buried treasures, slowly digging his way through its debris. The film speaks poignantly to a lost generation who fought in the Cuban Revolution and dreamed of a better society.

They live happily under one roof until Dolly falls in love with a high society advocate's son Amit. But society doesn't accept Dolly and charges her of being a illegal child and they must face both social and legal barriers as well as family turmoil in a fight to be together.

Dimevision Vol 1: That's The Fun I Have

Dimevision Vol. 1 is a DVD tribute to legendary Pantera/Damageplan guitarist Dimebag Darrell. It includes extremely rare, never before seen archival footage from the entire spectrum of his career. Featured are scenes from early club dates when Darrell was in his mid-teens during the "Metal Magic" days, and continuing through the meteoric rise of Pantera and the final days of Damageplan. Dimebag's offstage antics and his appetite for a great joke and laughter are also on prominent display. It brings back the raw emotion and fond memories of one of metal's truly great musicians! The DVD will be a must have for the huge legion of fans that Pantera and Damageplan amassed over the years. Running time is 73 minutes.

I don’t know where my wife is. The police treat us like animals. They beat us and spray us with teargas everyday. We cannot move forward, we cannot go back. We have to get out of here.
